A tube.
This week's my full Monday meditation on a Tuesday this week and Yeah,
I hope everyone had a good weekend.
Uhhh.
.
.
Yeah so picking up on this reference to this recent reference to water really and and the sea,
The ocean and with specific reference to Tenerife.
The Canaries,
The islands in the Atlantic Ocean and I wanted to try and draw a bit of a reference between that kind of geography and water and and kind of my experience of that.
And mindfulness.
And I think there's some really nice connections we can make there.
And yeah,
So I think really just to say,
Starting with,
So my experience of going to the Canaries,
Going to Tenerife,
I've been there a few times actually but the first time I think I went with my partner and this is a while ago.
We stayed in the southwest of the island but we were keen to explore so we hired a car.
And we went over to the north east part of the island and we found a fantastic tapas bar.
I don't remember the name unfortunately but it was just a very small tapas bar off one of the back streets in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
The capital in the north.
East of the island and then on another occasion we drove over to the north side.
And the town,
The main town there being Puerto de la Cruz.
And where she drove over and we,
It was just the two of us,
And because we liked her so much actually,
We didn't have anywhere to stay,
And this was before the days of COVID.
Airbnb or I think it might even have been before the days of the Internet so I'm showing my age there and We just basically went around trying to find a place to stay and stayed overnight on the off chance really,
Just because it was so lovely.
So beautiful you wanted to stay the night and wake up there and Yes,
So.
.
.
And it's beautiful,
It's a beautiful part of the world and of course it's on the coast and it looks out over the Atlantic Ocean.
And Yeah and I wanted to sort of bring to life a sense of that.
And the sense really of how you know water,
The sea especially I think,
Can be a really kind of soothing kind of place.
Yeah,
Relaxing.
Grrr.
A partner really,
Companion to us within and with regards to our unmindfulness behaviors and unmindfulness experience.
And.
.
.
Yeah,
So I'd like to lead a bit of a practice with regards to that.
And you're very welcome to join me and see hopefully how that may land for you.
Yeah.
And so.
.
.
Yeah,
So perhaps,
Again,
Sort of getting comfortable.
An expectation and in preparation really for a short practice over the next sort of few minutes.
And closing your eyes if that helps.
Perhaps taking a few deeper breaths.
Perhaps noticing fit on the floor bum on the seat if you're sitting,
Your hands resting or perhaps you're standing.
Or lying down and noticing the contact points,
The pressure points.
Here with whatever position.
You've chosen you're finding yourself in.
I'd like you to let your mind wander.
Now if that feels okay and so bring to mind a body of water.
And it may be one that's nearby it may be one that you saw on holiday.
It could be a beautiful Coast Beach.
Um.
.
.
Somewhere you visited and somewhere you recall with and you can bring to mind easily,
Relatively easily and well.
And with a sense of connection with a sense of yeah maybe even a sense of love really,
Of recalling a beautiful A view,
A beautiful spot,
A beautiful moment in time.
Thanks for sitting here.
Standing here,
Perhaps a sense of Bring in that.
That image,
That recollection to life,
The movement of water.
So maybe we can see some light glinting on the surface.
And maybe we can see waves ROLLING or maybe cascading if it's a little choppier.
Or maybe this is a beach.
Sam.
Maybe it's black sand,
Maybe it's.
.
.
Yellow,
White as sand.
Maybe the sunlight is reflecting off bouncing off the surface of the sea.
And maybe also.
.
.
Bringing other senses to mind here too.
Bring other senses into the process,
Perhaps there is sound.
As the sound of waves breaking on the beach.
A whistling of wind.
Maybe even the crashing of waves.
On rocks.
Surging up and then flowing back.
Maybe there is there.
The rattle.
Rattle of shingle or sand being drawn back by receding waves and maybe it's possible to have a sense feel a sense of motion within your body Yeah,
Because although we are sitting,
Being as still as we can be,
As you're able to be,
There's always movement.
Of course,
There's movement of the air moving in and out of the lungs.
Slight movements in the chest,
The back,
The arms.
Stomach So we are moving.
Because the sea is always moving.
And there is this movement here,
There is this movement there,
There is.
.
.
A sense of change.
Of changing.
Of being changed.
In time across time.
Flow of time.
The waves in the ocean carry water,
So the waves of time will carry us.
Sometimes it will be gently,
Sometimes perhaps not so much,
Perhaps with a bit more turbulence,
With a bit more Energy.
Are we always still the same?
Being carried forward.
Swept backwards and forwards perhaps,
Just as the waves rolling up and rolling down beach.
Maybe you are near the ocean,
Maybe you are near water right now listening to this.
Be an opportunity just to connect these words with what you see.
Open your eyes what you hear.
I'll perhaps carry these words with you.
In the next one.
Connected,
More clearly,
More closely.
Yeah,
Whether it's.
.
.
Tenerife and Ireland,
Whether it's somewhere else.
Beautiful views across the sea of sand.
Peaceful time.
Time to disconnect,
To relax too.
Just.
So I'm putting in this sort.
Aquatic practice to a close in your own time,
Yeah.
Wiggling your fingers toes if that helps.
We have movements.
That may feel good.
Yeah,
So thank you for joining me.
I hope you found that supportive.
Yeah,
Wishing you.
.
.
Enjoyable rest of your weeks and whatever you get up to and see you next week.
