This guided meditation is designed to bring you some calm in the midst of an emotional storm.
Start by sitting comfortably and gently close your eyes.
Notice the energy in your body as a cloud of sensations,
Pressure or tingling,
Temperature or moisture.
You may notice some sensations more than others and this changes,
Sometimes very quickly.
Try to let go of the image of your body and simply feel the sensations as points of energy At the most basic level,
We are clouds of energy particles in continuous motion.
Sometimes we believe that sensations will never go away,
Especially uncomfortable ones.
Remember an uncomfortable thought or sensation from the past that eventually went away.
They all do.
They all will.
Now become aware of your breathing without getting too focused on it.
Try to subtly cover your breath with your attention.
And now open your attention to any sounds that are happening around you and colors that might appear behind your closed eyelids.
Allow these things to come and go as if your canvas or an etch-a-sketch where sensations,
Breathing,
Sounds and visual patterns appear and disappear.
Believe them all,
Noticing but not getting entangled in any one of them.
Thoughts and emotions are doing the same thing,
Appearing and disappearing.
And you can notice their energy come and go as well.
