When we go through big life changes, we can often fall out of the driver's seat into more passive ways of perceiving the world. This calming meditation will restore you to your power as the traveler on the road of your life.

Welcome to this visualization.

You can sit or stand or even walk during this practice.

Please take your comfortable position.

Take a deep breath and imagine a road.

Imagine that you're seeing it from bird's eye view from above and the road far below is going on into the scenery,

Into the horizon and you are contemplating its every curve.

See the road in perspective.

The closer it is to you,

The wider it is and the clearer are the details of the scenery.

And the further it goes away,

The less you can see.

Maybe the background is blurry in the rays of sun and you are mesmerized by the scenery you have created in your mind's eye.

Imagine beautiful landscapes that invite you and inspire.

Breathe to give space for this vision to move inside you.

Now with the next breath out,

Descend on the road and get lost in the scenery.

You're now standing on the ground.

Concentrate on your feet.

How do you feel?

Discover each sound,

Each sensation around you.

And now look up and start walking along the road,

Feeling and hearing each of your footsteps,

Looking around.

You may be in a forest or among the hills or on the lakeside or even it can be a plain desert landscape and you're walking on a very straight road.

Still,

Your road is somehow curving.

If you are walking in a forest road,

A beautiful path with rich colors around,

Look up to the next turn.

You do not know what it is,

What it is going to bring you.

And even if your road is long and straight and you seem to know everything,

Still you cannot see beyond the horizon.

And this is the metaphor for personal changes.

Keep walking and contemplate how in life,

When changes happen to us,

We tend to take it exactly like this passively,

That they happen to us.

But when we are walking on the road,

Even if around the turn there is something unexpected and frightening,

We still know that it is our path and the responsibility that we have taken lies upon us and we execute it with each step we take.

Shifting the perspective from passive passenger's view to the traveler on the road can help you receive the life changes proactively,

Perceiving them and then managing them,

Surpassing them,

You're shifting from passive to active perspectives.

And now imagine that you are turning around the corner and you see something big,

Maybe an animal standing across the road.

It is staring at you.

Tap into your feelings,

Into your reaction of maybe fear or maybe curiosity,

Maybe something else.

Discover your feelings.

And when you're ready,

Start interacting with this unexpected change.

Look at it,

Move and eventually see yourself going beyond it and passing it.

And whatever it was and whatever your interaction was,

Positive or negative,

Now you are already beyond it and your heart rate is restoring to its normal pace and soon there will be next turns of the road and this vision will be left behind almost without a trace.

Breathe and return into your body,

Return into the present moment,

Into your life.

If your eyes are closed,

You can blink them open and reconnect with your day.

Thank you.

This visualization is now complete.
