The New Moon, also called the Dark Moon is a time for us to take a sacred pause & manifest the dreams and energies that rest in our deepest consciousness. Connecting to our inner darkness is also a way to hear the whispers of our intuition and our deep inner knowing. Using Yoga Nidra, we can transcend the layers of our consciousness and connect to our deepest self, which is often forgotten in the busy world. Let this Yoga Nidra practice take you into your intuition and guide you to connect to your own inner knowings and wisdom within. Use the darkness of the Moon as a blank canvas and create new intentions for your life, body & self. This practice has music that will fade gently so you can fall asleep. Use it before bed, in place of a nap, during the time of the new moon, or even during any time of the month to connect to your intuition. Music created by Natalie - titled “Soothing Voices”.

Welcome,

My name is Natalie and this is a practice that will support you during the time of the new moon or what is also known as the dark moon.

The new moon is a time where we create dreams,

Ideas,

And begin manifestations that will come into fruition later during the time of the full moon.

Many people tend to focus on manifesting light and lightness in their meditation practice,

But it can also be very useful to explore the darkness in us as each one of us has a balance of lightness and darkness within us.

Similar to when the sun sets and the earth grows dark,

It's the darkness that allows us to see the more nuanced light like the stars,

The moon,

And the magic of the earth.

And so exploring our own inner darkness is required for us to see the different layers of the light within us and the deep intuitive insights that we have.

So take a moment,

Find a comfortable place for your body,

And begin to take a slow breath in and a gentle breath out as you let yourself sink down into the support beneath you.

Let your eyes relax,

Allowing your thoughts to slow down and your breath to slow down to a natural rhythm that is soft and easy.

Your heart's intention for this practice can be something that you want to work on or manifest in your consciousness.

You can use one that resonates with you or you can use one of the following.

I trust in my own intuition or I trust in my own inner wisdom.

Once you've found the words,

Say them to yourself a few times and imagine like a seed you plant this intention into your awareness and your consciousness.

Now allow your body to become still.

As we move through this body scan,

You can feel the body's energy flow through your body.

Bring your attention to that part of your body or you could imagine the light of a candle or a gentle flame beginning with the thumb of your right hand.

Sense into your thumb.

Allow your awareness to move to your first finger.

Second finger.

Third finger.

Little finger.

Sense your wrist.

Shoulder.

Right side of your chest.

Moving down to the right side of your ribs.

Right side of your waist.

Ankle.

The sole of your right foot.

First toe.

Second toe.

Third toe.

Begin to sense the right side of your body altogether.

Now rest your attention on the thumb of your left hand.

Guide your attention over to your first finger.

Second finger.

Little finger.

Wrist.

Elbow.

Shoulder.

Left side of your chest.

Left side of your ribcage.

Left side of your waist.

The sole of your left foot.

First toe.

Second toe.

Third toe.

Fifth toe.

Now sense the left side of your body altogether.

Now begin to sense the space around your tailbone and your pubic bone.

Shift your attention upwards slightly into your pelvis.

And together your attention moves to the space around your navel and also sensing your back.

Let your attention move up to your ribcage.

And up to your upper back and chest.

The front of your throat and the back of your neck.

Shift your attention to the point between your eyebrows and the back of your head.

Sense your temples and the top of your head.

Allow your awareness to rest here at the top of your head.

And from the top of your head down to your toes.

Begin to sense your whole body.

Side to side.

As you sense your body,

Also begin to sense the rhythm of your breath.

Sending ripples of softness through your body.

Sense into the parts of your body that are spacious.

Invite in a feeling of spaciousness into your whole body.

Connect with those parts of you that hold that space.

And rather than seeing these parts as being empty or void,

Let them be a place of spaciousness.

For something new.

As we plant these seeds of intention into our consciousness,

This spaciousness will be a place where wholeness can live.

Bring into your mind's eye a vision of a dark sky.

And without the light of the moon,

Everything is dark.

But as your eyes adjust to the darkness,

You see the billions of stars that fill the night sky.

You look around you as each star appears,

Growing brighter.

You see that in the darkness of the sky,

Without the moon,

There is still light.

Looking down towards the horizon,

You see a gentle blue glow of the aurora growing brighter as its green lights begin to dance and shift in the sky.

Let yourself take in the sky now filled with billions of stars and the lights of the dancing aurora painting the sky with its magical glowing light.

Let yourself see the colors.

Let yourself be open to the symbols and the messages.

Let yourself be open to the magic of what can be created in the darkness.

Allow these images to continue and allow your consciousness to open to other messages that may appear to you in this darkness.

Allow your consciousness to use this spaciousness to begin to manifest and create something new.

And you can eventually allow everything to settle,

Settling back into stillness.

And you can rest,

Feeling a sense of trust in your consciousness to manifest what you need.

And let yourself rest.

Hi Natalie Each new offering from you is a gift. I let your yoga nidra meditations wash over me most days, especially the Kosha ones. This Dark Moon Wisdom is a gem - the combination of your simple words weaved with your own compositions and your soothing voice is exquisite. I love the way you always invite us to bring forward our sankalpa - that is helping for mine to manifest. Thank you, thank you, thank you
