Let's give thanks together this Thanksgiving Let's close out the day in gratitude I don't know how you've spent today,
Perhaps with family,
Friends,
Or perhaps in your own company Either way,
Let's spend time identifying,
Savouring,
And giving thanks for the little things that kept us going today The little things that brought some lightness to your day,
Some ease to your day,
The things that made you smile Finding a comfortable position and taking a few moments to make yourself even more comfortable And let's start by giving thanks for life Let's start by giving thanks for your life For this day was not promised You're still here,
Still breathing,
Still giving thanks What a wonderful,
Wonderful,
Wonderful miracle Let's think about this morning,
Thanksgiving morning What two or three things are you grateful for?
Maybe a hot cup of coffee,
Maybe waking up in peace in a comfortable bed Maybe seeing a message from a friend or loved one Maybe hearing a favourite song on the radio,
Anything And as things you're grateful for come to mind,
Just notice how they make you feel It really is the little things And then moving through your day today Thinking about what you did,
Where you went,
What you read,
What you heard Did something make you laugh?
Was someone kind,
Generous,
Gracious towards you?
Was something delicious?
Were you comfortable,
Warm and safe?
Could be the little things or it could be grand things depending on how you spent your day Bringing to mind the things you're grateful for and as you bring them to mind consciously saying to yourself Thank you,
Thank you,
Thank you and thank you again So we'll spend a minute with no guidance just to allow you to bring to mind moments throughout this Thanksgiving day that you're really grateful for and as I say it can be the smallest things Sensing how your body feels and how you feel emotionally Having spent time in gratitude No rights or wrongs,
Just seeing how you feel in this moment Life can be fun,
Joyful,
It can be full of connection and laughter Things can go well and at times the opposite can and will be true Things can be hard,
Really hard for all of us,
For you Things can also be mundane,
They can just tick along from day to day But throughout all of this as long as you are breathing As long as you have a roof over your head and food in the house There is something to be grateful for Cultivating this sense of gratitude for the small things regularly Helps get you through,
Helps get us through this thing called life It helps us feel less alone As we come to the end of the practice May you be well May you touch peace May you be happy and healthy And may you know that you are precious and you are loved Happy Thanksgiving and thank you so so much for practicing with me today
