Let's explore getting grounded.
When ungrounded,
We have difficulty knowing our left from our right,
And we have a much harder time being aware of the thoughts and the energies influencing our perception.
So we can feel scattered,
Anxious,
Panicky,
Uncertain.
Now this makes sense,
Since our consciousness is not confined to our physical body,
And at any time we can fly away into different dimensions,
Energies,
Realms.
And that means we can become ungrounded,
Which unfortunately doesn't feel good.
But grounding only takes a few minutes,
And its effects build over time.
So the more you do it,
The easier it gets,
And the more grounded you will begin to naturally feel.
So let's take a few moments to ground.
You want to get into a comfortable and seated position,
One that allows you to feel your feet on the ground.
Now you've done this,
Soften into your spine and just see if you can relax a little bit more into your back and your shoulders.
Guide your awareness to your bottom,
Sitting on a chair.
And if you need to get a little more comfortable,
You can scooch in and settle in a bit more,
If that feels right.
Feel the back of your thighs against the cushion or chair,
And all the way down to the back of your legs,
Your calves,
Ankles,
Heels,
To the bottoms of your feet.
Feel the bottoms of your feet on the ground.
Feel the texture there,
The warmth or coolness of whatever surface is under your feet.
Now I want you to ask your soul to show you how to ground.
Just set the intention.
Show me what it feels like to ground.
And with this intention,
Imagine energy centers at the bottoms of your feet just opening up.
And invite your own awareness to move downward just a few inches below the surface of the floor.
And then a few inches more.
You can use your exhale to lead you a bit deeper.
So when you inhale,
Just notice that.
And then exhale.
Exhale down,
Down,
Down,
Through the bottoms of your feet.
Your exhale itself is like water emptying into the earth.
So gently allow your awareness to pour itself right into the earth,
Pouring into the moist soil underneath your feet,
Loosening,
Spreading,
Expanding.
Moving downwards now through the layers of earth,
You encounter the soft hummus and networks of energy.
Even though earth is physically dense,
The energy of earth is not.
And you're noticing this.
The divine consciousness that we call earth is light and calm and actually quite happy.
Feel into it.
What does grounding feel like for you energetically?
Wait a moment for your energy body to answer this question.
What does grounding feel like to me energetically?
Maybe it is calm,
Stable,
Soft.
Earth energy simply feels good.
You may even smile a little as you recognize this truth.
Now,
Using your intentionality again,
Invite and allow that yummy connection you have just made upwards to move upwards from the bottoms of your feet and into your entire body.
Allow grounding to reconnect you to your physical self from the inside.
What does it feel like to ground?
Can you feel the warm flow of energy running from your calves,
Knees,
Thighs,
Hips?
You can feel that warmth slowly spread and just allow it to move upwards from your feet through your legs into your pelvic bowl.
As grounding energy billows throughout and settles into your pelvic bowl,
Reconnecting you with earth energy.
Notice how calming it feels,
How connecting it feels to be grounded.
You may notice your restored sense of reality and perspective and proportion will come back to yourself.
So you can take this with you and you can use this practice again whenever you feel scattered,
Anxious,
Panicky,
Ungrounded.
It is a reminder to ground,
To come back into your energy body.
When we ground into earth's life force,
Our nervous system system instantly regulates and we regain our sanity,
Our stability,
Our sense of reality.
So while you can't force grounding,
It is a practice.
You can always invite and allow the energy to move upward from underneath your feet.
