In today's short meditation,
We will learn to ease anxiety and find a place of calmness and trust with a light breathing exercise.
Find a nice comfortable seat of your choice or lie down flat on your back and find stillness.
Start to feel into the areas where your body touches the ground and feel them become heavier and heavier.
Your breathing becomes deeper,
Lengthening your inhalation and exhalation with every cycle of breath.
With every inhale,
Imagine a rich golden light entering your body from the crown of your head.
Imagine it travelling through your throat and your chest,
Finally coming to rest inside your belly.
With every new inhalation,
More of this bright golden light starts streaming in from the crown of your head.
With every new exhalation,
You send a light to every part of your body.
Follow the path of light through your shoulders,
Into your arms,
Until it reaches your fingertips.
Continue to fill your body with light,
Watching as with every exhalation,
The light travels through your hips,
Down your legs and into your feet and toes.
Keep breathing and realise that with every breath your body starts to glow more and more from the inside out,
Emitting a soft golden glow all around.
Stay with this rhythm of breathing and keep following the path of light through your body.
How does the light make you feel?
Do you feel a warming sensation?
Do you feel a feeling of calmness and peace wash over you?
You can choose to stay here and continue breathing the bright golden light for as long as you wish.
If you feel satisfied,
Start making yourself aware of your surroundings.
Feel your body sitting up or lying on the floor and slowly start moving your fingers and your toes.
