Welcome to day four,
And we're starting to get a better idea of how the work starts to affect us physically.
So today we get a little bit deeper,
Each day we get a little bit deeper,
And find that nice quiet,
Comfortable spot and start to just close the eyes,
Paying attention to the breathing,
Doing a little scan of the spine,
Softening the face,
Softening your eyebrows.
And this time I want you to imagine the words,
I am plus your first name floating right above you.
Think,
Imagine these words,
Whatever comes more naturally to you.
I am Maria Jose,
Filling it in with your first name,
Noticing any attachments that come between you and your first name.
How do you identify with your first name?
Take three deep breaths that way,
Just thinking,
Imagining you have those words just floating above you.
And go ahead and drop your first name and allow the words,
I am to float right above you.
Now begin to create some space,
Let the I float towards one side and the am float towards the opposite side.
Notice what it feels like first to have dropped your first name and taking in the words,
I am.
Do you feel the need to fill in the blank?
Do you feel the need to identify with something?
Stepping into that role of detective observer.
What are the quality of your thoughts?
Creating some space,
More and more space with each breath between the word,
I and the word am.
Notice what that space feels like.
Keeping that space right there,
Right above you,
You can tap into it at any moment.
Watch the I,
Watch the am,
How they gradually float apart.
Thinking back to the last week,
Scanning the week for a time where you felt an emotional charge can be the same one from yesterday.
It can be a new one,
Can be a one that's further in the past than yesterday.
Again,
Put yourself into that space again.
I promise this is worth it.
Sometimes we don't want to go through with this.
Let yourself go into that space.
Let yourself go into the space of observing that scene that left you feeling a strong emotional charge.
Maybe it's something that you no longer think is a big deal.
Maybe it's something that still weighs on you.
Take your detective lens and watch as if you are watching the scene like a scene in a movie and taking your detective loop,
Seeing if you can pick up on in that moment the thing that was said,
The thing that was done,
The thing that wasn't done or wasn't said.
How did it affect your body in that moment?
Where did you feel emotionally charged?
From an external perspective,
Observe it,
Watching it as though on a movie.
And then begin to find that very core of where you were feeling it can be in the heart,
In the tummy,
Lower abdomen,
Base of the spine,
In the throat,
In the face,
In the jaw,
In the shoulders.
Get into it.
Getting into that very core.
Getting into the very center of the emotion.
It's almost like you can see it.
Is there a color associated with the emotion?
Is there a shape,
An image?
Observe it.
With that space that you're able to generate for yourself,
Go to the very nucleus,
The very eye of the storm.
Push your way through it.
Noticing if it's hard to get into the middle of it.
Noticing if it's hard to push.
Is there any emotional resistance?
Is there any physical resistance?
Once you've gotten to that very core,
Soften your face,
Soften your jaw.
You're observing.
And from the core,
Observe the surroundings of that energy,
Of that dense,
Heavy energy.
Ask yourself,
What is around me?
What can I see at the very edge of this hurricane,
This tornado,
This emotion as I sit in the eye of it?
And turning to that energy and asking it,
What are you protecting me from feeling?
Seeing if anything comes up.
Whatever does come up,
Simply observe it.
Particularly noticing if the emotion has shifted from what you originally thought.
Noticing if there's any fear,
Any resentment,
Any guilt.
And observe it.
Letting the very core,
The eye of the storm,
Slowly begin to expand.
Watching it dissolve.
From that place,
From that core,
Allow it to dissolve.
Taking your time,
Whenever you feel ready,
Create heat with the palms.
Separating them out and bringing them to that place where you might have felt it.
Taking three deep breaths for healing.
Knowing that you've done the work to slowly begin to dissolve what is at the core of your emotional charges.
Opening the eyes.
Namaste.
