Meditation for closure.
Getting into a nice comfortable seated position.
Closing the eyes or softening the gaze down the roof of your nose.
Begin to tune in with your breathing.
Notice how your physical body will expand every time you inhale.
And how the navel comes back towards the spine as you exhale.
Observe your breath in that flow.
Bringing forward onto your mind.
Whatever the situation is that you have wanted to gain closure on.
Getting into the forefront,
Allowing yourself to feel the emotions that come up for you.
Noticing if your subtle energy feels one way or another.
Stepping into the role of observer.
Observing your breath.
Observing how your energy is affected and changes when you bring that situation of closure to the forefront of your mind.
From that space,
Recognizing any physical sensations that come up for you as you bring your five senses into that situation.
Putting yourself in that space if you're not there presently.
Soak in the energy of the space.
Or the energy of the person,
The people in that space.
Noticing the colors,
The shapes.
Bringing in the sense of taste.
Is there anything in particular that you really enjoyed sharing as a meal in that space or with a specific person in that space?
Noticing sounds.
What are your favorite sounds from that space or from that person?
Bringing attention to any smells.
Do you associate any smells with the situation,
With the space,
With this person,
With this loved one?
And lastly,
Looking around and feeling the textures of the space,
Whatever the situation is that comes up for you.
What are some of the textures in your surroundings?
Really allow yourself to be there.
Noticing a moment that stands out to you most as you bring in those senses to that moment.
Whatever emotions come up for you,
Observe them and in your mind or in your mind's eye,
Name them.
Allow them to be present.
Hold space for them one by one.
If you feel sadness,
For example,
What does that sadness look like?
Imagine you can hold it or comfort it.
How would you do so?
One by one,
Whatever emotion comes up as you put yourself in that situation with that person or loved one,
In that space of closure.
By the feeling,
Notice what it looks like.
Notice what reactions it has.
How would you comfort it?
Sit with that emotion,
Whether it feels light or heavy,
Remembering there's no such thing as a negative emotion.
Try not to judge it.
Try not to resist it.
Be with it.
Begin to notice if you feel any certain attachment to that emotion,
A sense of not really wanting to let it go,
A sense of wanting to hold it closer.
If you feel any of that attachment,
Just observe it and know that that is part of the path that you are on,
Is part of your closure journey.
Greet that part of yourself with compassion.
We step into observing our attachments without judging ourselves,
Being too harsh.
Simply hold that space and acknowledge that you might not be quite ready to let go of your attachment to that feeling,
And that's okay.
Putting yourself in that space with your loved one,
That situation that you're looking for closure in,
Envision yourself sending love and compassion to yourself in that situation with that person in that space.
Embodying a warm glow,
Feel your heart glowing right from the center of your chest.
From that space and glow of your chest,
Feel gratitude.
Notice if there's any kind of resistance.
Notice if it feels too forced to bring gratitude in.
Where is that resistance coming from?
Observe it.
You might not be ready for that step,
And that's okay.
If you notice that resistance and are ready to go forward,
Feel gratitude for all of the experiences with that loved one in that space,
In that situation that you're wanting to let go of.
Thinking of three ways that you feel grateful for those experiences.
Bringing the energy of that experience,
That gratitude down into your heart.
Letting that warm glowy feeling in the chest expand and grow.
Knowing that you can tap into this energy anytime your heart begins to ache.
Hold space for yourself.
Be patient with yourself.
Knowing that processing and feeling all of these feelings is part of your closure.
Closure takes time and patience.
Staying in that glow of warm energy in your chest,
Observing any emotions,
Images,
Thoughts,
Memories that come up for you,
And observe them.
Staying with that warm glow in the chest,
That energy of gratitude towards this experience as long as you need.
Letting that warm glow in your chest expand and grow.
Namaste.
