Hi and welcome.
I'm glad you're here and I'm excited for us to share a few minutes together.
We're going to pretend we're at a train station.
Trains will come and trains will go and we'll watch them without getting onto any of the trains.
So to get started,
Decide if you want to sit,
Stand or lay down.
Find a way to get comfortable.
If you'd like,
You can let out a train sound with me or you can just listen.
Chugga,
Chugga,
Chugga,
Chugga,
Chugga,
Chugga,
Chugga,
Chugga,
Choo,
Choo.
Now take a big breath in and let your breath go and notice how that felt or how it sounded and get quiet with your body and let's invite our mind to also join our body to get quiet.
Wherever you are,
There may be things distracting you.
Your brain may have thoughts,
Ideas,
Memories,
Pictures or things popping up.
There may be noise,
People,
Animals nearby.
Can you let yourself hear them or see them and then listen back to the sound of my voice?
And now with your imagination,
Pretend we're at that train station.
There may be people talking,
Train whistles,
Bells,
Conductors making announcements and there are trains whooshing by.
This can make me feel distracted.
So I watch and I listen.
I may take one of those breaths like I did when we started.
I may feel my feet or my seat against the surface and I stay where I am and I don't get on any of the trains.
I simply notice them as they pass by.
Here comes another train.
Let's wave to it or imagine who or what it may be carrying and we'll stay right here in the station and watch it pass by.
Anytime your mind feels noisy or busy,
You can imagine yourself at the train station just like we did.
There may be things that are distracting you and you can watch the train pass on by without having to get on it and then the station quiets down again.
