Hi,
It's Missy Brown with Dplay4Kids.
Welcome back.
I'm excited to be together today to share a tapping practice.
No,
Not that kind of tapping where you need a top hat and shoes that click.
It's something that you can do right here,
Wherever you are,
For yourself.
It's often called EFT or emotional freedom tapping.
It's an easy to follow and offer to yourself practice where by tapping and stimulating energy points,
Negative emotions can get unstuck.
It's like acupuncture without needles or a massage without a therapist.
Before we get started,
I'll invite you to find a comfortable place to sit.
This can also be standing or lying down,
But I'm seated,
So perhaps you'll try having a seat with me.
And now think of something you want to release for our practice today.
Stress,
Tension,
Physical pain,
Emotional pain,
Fear,
Anxiety.
These are all okay.
At times they can get stuck inside of my body,
So I practice tapping to release them when they begin to feel overwhelming.
And whatever you choose is perfect for you.
Today I'm going to be choosing stress.
And during our tapping practice that I'll be leading in a minute,
I'll be using phrases that include the word stress several times.
Feel free to replace my word with whatever word you're choosing to release today.
Okay,
Are you ready to get started?
Bring the palms of your hands together in front of your heart and allow your thumbs to rest against your heart.
Gently tap five times on your own heart to activate your heart,
To connect your heart to yourself and to bring you right here with me.
And then stop.
Eyes can be closed or gently gaze downwards to find a soft gaze at the floor in your lap at something that's not moving.
I'm going to close my eyes.
Begin to notice your breath,
The natural flow of your breath as it enters and exits your body.
Feel the flow and imagine directing the breath to your heart,
Breathing into the count of four and breathing out to the count of four.
And see if you can drop into this four,
Four count without forcing or fixing anything.
Just think in your mind for as you breathe in and the count of four as you breathe out,
Allow your tongue to rest on the floor of your mouth.
Feel stillness and softness in your feet,
In your legs,
In your pelvis and hips,
Belly,
Front body and back body,
Hands,
Arms,
Chest,
Neck,
Face and head.
Stillness and softness and the body resting here.
Now using your dominant hand and you can choose to use two,
Three or four fingers,
Begin tapping your non-dominant hand gently but firmly right below where the end of the pinky meets the hand.
And as you tap here,
Imagine stress leaving your body,
Stress melting away,
Stress draining away.
Feeling held stress leaving your body.
And now switch hands and using your non-dominant hand to tap that same part on your dominant hand.
Imagine stress leaving your body,
Stress melting away,
Stress draining away.
Feeling stress no longer stuck and trapped in your body.
Now move to where your eyebrows meet the bridge of your nose and begin tapping with those two,
Three or four fingers gently but firmly.
Tapping the bridge of your nose and from the center of your eyebrows out to the edges of your eyebrows and back.
Tapping all along your eyebrows and that area right below the third eye.
Tapping as you melt stress away.
Move gently to the sides of the eyes and tap there.
And any time you can change the fingers that you're using,
Different parts may feel different.
Two,
Three or four fingers gently tapping,
Tapping,
Tapping,
Wrapping,
Feeling stress leaving your body.
And now move to under the eyes.
Right below where the pupil or the center of your eye is.
Very gently on that bone,
Below that bone,
Above that bone,
Wherever it feels comfortable for you without hurting yourself.
Tapping under your eyes,
Releasing stress,
Melting stress.
And now move to under your nose.
Gently tapping above your lips on that spot where your nose and your lip have an empty space.
Tapping,
Tapping,
Gently tapping under the nose.
And then move to under the lower lip.
So in between where your chin and your lower lip are in that space,
Gently tapping stress away.
Tapping to release any stored or trapped stress in the body.
Tapping,
Tapping.
And then move to under the collarbones.
Gently tapping again with two,
Three or four fingers,
Whatever feels comfortable on your body.
Tapping under the collarbone,
Releasing stress,
Finding any trapped stress or stress that may be hiding.
Tapping it away.
And then lift up an arm,
Whichever arm you want,
And do this same tapping under your arm.
So tapping underneath the arm,
Finding spots where it feels just right for you.
Tapping underneath one arm.
And then tapping underneath the other arm.
Gently,
Firmly tapping underneath the other arm.
And the last place we'll move to is the head.
Moving up to the top of the head and using your fingers,
Gently tap the top of your head.
And imagine any final stress leaving your body.
Any stress that was tapped or stored,
Trapped or stored or lodged anywhere in your body.
Tapping,
Tapping to get rid of the stress.
And now bring the tapping to a close.
Allow your eyes to remain closed if they are,
Or perhaps you may want to use this last minute that will be together to close your eyes.
And find relaxed hands resting on your legs,
In your lap,
By the side of your body.
And now turn to the breath.
Feeling that breath in the heart.
Breathing in,
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Breathing out,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Breathing in,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Breathing out,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Breathing in,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Breathing out,
Two,
Three,
Four.
And imagine a beam of bright light entering the crown of your head,
Washing over your entire body,
From the crown of your head down to the tips of your toes.
Feeling renewed with lightness and spaciousness.
As you feel ready,
Very gradually begin to open your eyes as you return to your day.
