Welcome to this guided meditation,
A Year in Review.
This meditation will allow yourself time to pause,
Reflect and honor the journey you've walked this past year.
So just get into a comfortable position,
You may choose to sit upright with your feet grounded or lie down,
Feeling the support beneath you.
As you gently close your eyes all the way down,
Let your hands rest gently on your lap or by your sides,
Wherever they feel most relaxed.
Take a deep breath in through your nose,
Filling your lungs completely.
Feel your chest rise as you draw in fresh new energy.
Hold the breath for a moment and then exhale slowly,
Releasing any stress,
Any tension.
Allow your shoulders to drop as you exhale.
Repeat this two more times.
Inhale deeply,
Hold it briefly and exhale completely.
And once more in your own time.
Let your breathing now settle into a natural rhythm,
Soft and steady.
And this meditation will guide you through a journey of reflection,
Gratitude and intention.
As we look back on the year that has passed and prepare for the new year ahead.
Let's begin by grounding ourselves in this moment.
As you bring your awareness to the surface beneath you,
Feel the stability and support it offers.
Imagine roots growing from the base of your spine or the soles of your feet,
Reaching deep into the earth.
These roots anchor you,
Connecting you to the present moment,
Steady and secure.
Take a few breaths here,
Feeling this grounding sensation.
With each exhale,
Let go of any distractions or lingering thoughts.
Allow yourself to fully arrive in this space,
In this moment.
Notice your body,
The weight of it against the surface supporting you.
Notice any areas of tension or tightness.
And as you exhale,
Imagine those areas softening,
Releasing.
Now imagine yourself standing at the edge of a long winding path.
This path represents your journey through the year.
The air around you is calm and peaceful,
And the path stretches behind you,
Showing the months that have passed.
Ahead,
It extends into the new year,
Full of potential.
Take a deep breath and turn your attention to the start of the path,
The beginning of the year,
January.
Reflect for a moment.
Where were you at the start of this year?
What were your hopes,
Dreams,
Or intentions as the year began?
What challenges or uncertainties did you face at that time?
Allow the memories to gently surface.
There's no need to judge or analyze them.
Simply observe.
Visualize yourself taking the first steps down this path,
Moving through the months one by one.
Notice how the scenery changes with each step.
As you walk this path,
Pause for a moment at the points where challenges arose.
Think back to the times this year that tested you.
Moments of difficulty,
Uncertainty,
Or pain.
Take a deep breath as you reflect.
What were the most significant challenges you faced this year?
How did they make you feel?
How did you respond to them?
Allow yourself to acknowledge these moments fully.
They may have felt heavy,
Overwhelming,
Or even impossible at the time.
As you sit with these memories,
Imagine holding them gently in your hands.
Honoring the energy it took to face them.
Now,
Picture those challenges as heavy stones in a backpack you've been carrying.
One by one,
Imagine removing the stones and setting them down.
Feel the weight lifting from your shoulders with each release.
Say to yourself,
I honor the effort it took to move through these moments.
I release their weight now.
Take a deep breath,
