Gratitude and positivity have been shown to reduce the negative effects of stress,
Improve sleep,
And cultivate a sense of well-being.
This meditation will promote a positive mindset to take with you into your day.
Begin sitting comfortably with your feet flat on the floor,
Resting in your lap.
To start,
Simply begin to notice your breathing.
Is it short and shallow or long and deep?
Breathe in through your nose and as you breathe out,
Let your tongue rest behind the tips of your teeth,
Allowing your jaw to relax.
You can exhale through your mouth or nose,
Whichever feels most comfortable for you.
Take three deep breaths in.
For the next few breaths,
Allow yourself to imagine three things,
Big or small,
That you're grateful for.
Focus,
Come back to the rhythm of your breath.
Notice the quality of your breathing.
It may have slowed down a bit.
Continue to notice as you inhale,
If your mind starts to wander,
Tension back to your breath.
For the next few moments,
Begin to imagine three actions,
Large or small,
You can take to express gratitude or positively affect someone else's day.
Whether it's helping someone,
Sending a nice email,
Compliment,
Or something much larger.
Allow yourself to envision three ways you can influence another person's day for the better.
From your focus to your breathing.
Notice your inhale,
Positivity circuitry.
It has an effect on our thoughts,
Our actions,
And our interactions with others.
Positivity begets positivity.
If you need a boost throughout your day,
Listen to this meditation or take a few moments to find a way to positively influence someone else's day.
Now take five more deep breaths.
Your focus go.
Now slowly open your eyes.
Thanks for meditating with us and we look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
