We will begin our meditation today by bringing awareness to our posture.
Are we in a comfortable position?
Are we in a position that we can remain alert,
Aware,
That we can have an extended period of time of practice?
If there is any aspect of our body that is not in tandem with our intention,
We can adjust that.
We can adjust that now or whenever the awareness arises that our posture beckons,
Invites,
Longs for relaxation,
Adjustment,
To express itself in a natural,
Authentic way.
As our posture becomes seated,
Grounded,
Situated,
Happy,
Happy with itself in itself as,
As itself.
Then some awareness can be brought to our breath,
Our breath as an anchor.
You can notice our in-breath.
Notice our nostrils,
Our nose area into our nasal cavity and back into our throat,
Down our throat and into our lungs,
Our chest and our bellows,
Our belly.
Rising and falling.
No need to control our breath.
No need to restrict it,
To push it.
We just rest our awareness on our breath.
In-breath,
To our out-breath.
Inviting awareness to fall on anywhere in the breath cycle.
From entering the nostrils,
To warming the nostril cavities,
To touching the back of the throat,
To descending into the upper chest cavity,
Breath mingling with heart,
And the bellowing,
Pumping,
Rhythmic diaphragm,
Our belly expanding and contracting.
Our minds may wander from our breath and we can return our breath as our anchor.
When we drift from our anchor,
When we gloriously realize we've drifted,
We simply,
Without judgment,
Return to our anchor.
To realize and return is the essence of our practice.
We may drift to our bodily awareness.
We may drift to our posture.
We may drift to an invitation to relax,
To be aware,
To resituate,
And return to our breath.
I invite you to stay in your posture,
Relaxed yet alert,
With your awareness anchored on your breath as you wander and realize,
Return again and again to your breath.
Your ever-present,
Mindful companion,
That's personal,
Present,
And prepared to let you realize you.
Please continue your practice of your breath awareness as long as you like,
When you come to a sense of satisfaction,
Of completion,
Of return,
And your practice with gratitude for our time and our practice of present nature.
Thank you.
