Welcome to practice.

My name is Neil Seligman,

The conscious professional.

Thank you for joining me today for this guided mindfulness meditation for cultivating optimism for the future.

Begin by finding a comfortable posture and by bringing your awareness to the breath.

Take a few moments to let yourself arrive.

And allow the breath to draw you gently into internal awareness.

Allow the gaze to soften.

And if comfortable,

Your eyes to close.

As you breathe,

Welcoming the warmth of awareness through the body.

Like ink dissolving through water.

Starting just where you are.

Being here in the present moment.

Perhaps offering acceptance to your life.

Your circumstances.

Your challenges.

Drawing safety from the simple sensations of breath and body.

Navigating to something that feels calming and comforting.

Maybe your feet on the floor.

Perhaps the rhythm of the breath.

Or the warmth of holding your own hand.

Remembering you can return to any of these anchors at any time.

Breathing.

Tuning into the vibration of your life in this moment.

Allowing thoughts to come and go.

Returning to the sensations of life being experienced in your body,

On your breath,

In this being.

Acknowledging everything it has taken to bring you to this moment in life.

To this pause right now.

Perhaps casting your awareness back through the narrative of your life.

Noting some joys and some sorrows.

Perhaps finding comfort from the words of Jack Kornfield.

You can trust that the heart can hold it all.

Shepherding your awareness to the heart.

Perhaps if comfortable bringing a hand or both hands to rest upon the heart.

Finding yourself alive.

And allowing yourself to unveil the unconditional joy that lives as a hum in the breath and in the being.

As you breathe,

Sensing the pull of that hum welcoming you into your future.

Allowing yourself to open,

To trust in your own way.

Trust in your life.

Trusting in your path.

Trusting in the unfolding.

Breathing here.

Settling just 2% deeper into your body,

Into your practice.

Resting here.

Really resting here.

Contemplating the frequency of optimism and feeling its pull through your human DNA.

Asking you to arise.

To awaken.

To be present.

To be heard.

To be seen just as you are.

Finding your own way.

Knowing that your story has chapters left to reveal.

Noticing that your personal track record for getting through difficult days is 100% so far.

Feeling the truth of that in every cell.

Breathing all the way in and all the way out.

And as we begin to gently return,

Perhaps offering an intention for yourself,

For your life.

Giving yourself permission to hope,

To dream.

To live an optimistic vision of your narrative,

Your story,

Your life.

Opening to the sounds around you.

Opening and remembering the space around you.

And in your very own time,

Allowing the eyes to reopen.

Thank you for joining me in practice today.
