This is Day 8 of the 28-Day ONE MINUTE Mindfulness Challenge. Today we will be paying attention to our feet and the sensations we notice in our feet (some stillness and some seated movement). These are short, quick mindfulness exercises for teachers, parents and children to get a taste of what it feels like to commit to the self-care practice of mindfulness every day for 28 days.

Welcome to day 8 and a new week in your mindfulness challenge.

This week we'll be all about sensing your body.

Sit comfortably,

Close your eyes or take your gaze down.

Start by stomping your feet.

Stomp,

Stomp,

Stomp.

Keep going.

Keep going.

Now stop.

Be very still and notice any sensations you feel in your feet.

They could be tingly or buzzy.

Maybe they feel heavy.

Just focus on what you notice in your feet.

Those are called senses,

Sensations.

Now scrunch your toes up and spread them out.

And scrunch them up and spread them out.

Now relax them.

What do you notice in your feet and toes?

Sensing what you feel in your feet.

Place one hand on your belly.

Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.

Great work today!
