And full body slowly relaxing let's start by getting comfortable and arrive in this moment of stillness with the breath by taking a deep inhale in extra quick inhale to fill your body up and a nice sigh out feel all of the air escape one more time just a deep inhale in an extra quick inhale to fill your body up and a nice sigh out feeling all the air escape when suffering with the trauma of chronic and debilitating pain we can often find ourselves paralyzed with post-traumatic stress remaining hyper vigilant to the pain or disassociated from it sometimes becoming stuck in these moments for some of us this can result in not even being able to visualize a brighter future because of the pain of the present another truly cruel outcome of this illness and while we may not know what the future holds we can feel assured that we will always find ways to cope and you very clearly just by listening to this have established some amazing coping mechanisms so why not explore how beautiful the future can be for us I want you to start by visualizing yourself in a safe place one that's a beautiful spot where there's no hurt or pain maybe it's somewhere special you visited on vacation or a place you grew up that's surrounded by love and support just teleport yourself there and see all the things that make this place beautiful smell the smells hear any of the soothing sounds and just ground yourself here while breathing deeply in and out just gently try to picture yourself sitting here in this place of safety being visited by a version of you from one year from now watch as this version of you sits beside you puts their arm around you to hold and comfort you just listen closely as they gently whisper to you the universe has a far better plan for you than you could ever imagine the universe has a far better plan for you than you could ever imagine feel the love and comfort of these words wash over you as you finally begin to feel some bit of peace and calm and just gently whisper back to yourself the universe has a far better plan for me than I could ever imagine feel your heart opening up and a sense of ease cascading throughout your body as you sit with this feeling of assurance and calm as you continue to sit in this place of safety and stillness the version of you from one year from now just gently walking off into the distance probably had to pee or something from all that traveling we'll just gently see a version of yourself from five years from now sitting across from you look at their beautiful expression and take in any other details of this secure calm and comforting version of you perhaps big headbands and pearl necklaces are back in style just like the first season of the hills or maybe you're just taking a bag at how truly awe-inspiring this person in front of you is and with a gentle smile on your face I want you to give yourself a massive hug gently wrapping your arms around yourself right now feel the feels of the support from your future self softly rub your arms up and down and hear your future self whisper even when it's dark you can release control and trust that everything is unfolding in your favor even when it's dark you can release control and trust that everything is unfolding in your favor as you continue hugging yourself gently whisper back I am deserving of all that I wish for I am deserving all that I wish for placing your arms back down just sit in this moment of peace and solitude knowing that the universe has your back and even if it feels like there isn't any hope we'll rest softly in our faith that everything is unfolding just as it's meant to be and before we say goodbye to this incredible version of ourselves that sits before us just continue to listen to all that they have to say of what you accomplish go on to do and just sit with those feelings of reassurance in your body we'll just return back to the room by taking a deep inhale in through the nose and a nice slow exhale out we'll wiggle the fingers and toes do a nice gentle stretch and slowly open your eyes remember that even if life is clouded by doubt and fear right now we must never buy into it and should always try to trust ourselves and remember that the universe is always conspiring in our favor even if we just can't see it yet go on warrior you've got this
