Hello,
And thank you so much for joining me for this Mind the Pain mindfulness meditation aimed at reducing the stress,
Pain,
And anxiety caused by endometriosis.
When you're ready,
I invite you to close your eyes or keep an unfocused gaze in front of you,
Whichever you prefer,
Sitting up straight or lying down,
Your head,
Shoulders,
Belly,
And full body slowly relaxing.
I hope you're not in any pain today,
But if you are,
I'm so sorry.
We'll work together now to get you feeling safe,
Allowing your body to settle and your mind to begin to quiet.
We'll begin by bringing our attention to your breath,
Taking a deep,
Slow inhale through your nose,
And a nice,
Slow exhale out.
Repeat this deep,
Cleansing breath a few more times,
Sinking deeper into the surface below you,
Feeling the stress melt away.
Returning to your breath's natural rhythm,
With each inhale,
Imagine drawing in calm,
Healing energy,
And with each exhale,
Release any pain,
Anxiety,
Or stress.
Feeling your body becoming lighter and more relaxed with each breath.
Now we'll just shift your focus to your body,
Starting at the top of your head and slowly scanning downwards,
Just noticing the body and how it's feeling in this moment,
Without judging it,
As hard as that can be,
Especially if we're in pain.
And we'll just imagine a warm,
Golden light softly touching the top of your head,
Not sure where it's come from,
But we won't question its existence too much,
Because the light is bringing a beautiful sense of warmth and relaxation.
As it moves down to your forehead,
Feel your muscles smooth and release.
Let the light continue down to your eyes,
Making them heavy,
And onto your cheeks and jaw,
Easing any tightness.
Allow it to flow down your neck and shoulders,
Fully melting away any stress.
Breathing in deeply and slowly,
Just feel the golden light travel down your arms to your hands,
Releasing any lingering tension.
And we'll just notice your chest and abdomen,
Particularly where you might feel pain from your endo.
Let the light bathe these areas in warmth and comfort,
Soothing any discomfort,
Gently tuning into the pain without judgment,
As hard as that can be,
And witnessing how the pain changes moment to moment.
And we'll let the relaxation move down to your hips,
Thighs,
Knees,
And finally your feet.
Your entire body is now bathed in this warm,
Healing light.
Look at you glow.
As we bathe in this beautiful glow,
Just silently repeat these affirmations to yourself.
I am calm.
I am at peace.
My body is healing,
And I trust its process.
I release my pain,
And I'm finding relief.
We're going to be okay.
Take a few moments to let these affirmations settle into your mind and body,
Feeling them ease any lingering tension.
When you're ready,
We'll just bring your awareness back to your breath Taking a deep breath in through the nose,
And a nice slow exhale out.
One more time,
Deep breath in through the nose,
And a nice gentle exhale out.
As always,
We'll wiggle your fingers and toes,
Give ourselves a nice shoulder roll,
And when you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
Remember that our pain can often consume us,
But we always have the light within us to help,
Even in the smallest of ways.
Go on,
Warrior.
You've got this.
