This meditation is for children and it's probably best for those in the 3,

2,

6 or 7 range It's more of an introduction to meditation So let's begin Let's all take a deep breath and I mean a really deep breath So breathe in through your nose and blow it all out through your mouth And one more big deep breath in Feeling it in your lungs And a deep breath out,

Blowing it all out,

Emptying your lungs And one last big breath in And a big breath out Now that we're getting relaxed,

I'm going to tell you a little bit about meditation And why I think it's cool Meditation is when you take a few minutes just to sit by yourself on a comfy chair or on your bed or wherever you feel cozy And when you sit there,

Close your eyes and focus on feeling your breath coming in and your breath going out Now you're probably thinking,

So I just sit somewhere by myself and take some deep breaths and that does something?

Yes,

I'm here to tell you it does It doesn't feel like you're doing anything,

But guess what it does?

It makes you feel better Sometimes when I don't feel so good or I'm sad about something or angry about something or I don't understand something When I'm trying to figure something out,

I meditate And the reason it makes you feel better is because you get to take a little time and just be you Who you really are inside You get to hang out with yourself and get to know yourself a little better You can just be you Who you really are Deep down in that soul and heart of yours And at that moment when you're meditating you don't have to be doing any chores or finishing your homework It doesn't matter what you said to someone or what they said to you You get to spend time with yourself in those moments And you get to connect to who you are Who your soul is deep down And you don't have to worry about anything else What a relief Each and every one of us has a beautiful soul inside of us And your soul knows what makes you happy So the more you get quiet and listen to it The better you'll feel You'll feel the love of who you really are Sometimes I'll sit there and I'll get quiet And when I'm done I'll think,

Hey,

Nothing happened But as I go through my day after I'm done meditating I realize that I feel more peaceful I'm nicer to myself I'm nicer to other people And I feel better If you listen Your soul or your heart will speak to you They will tell you who you really are In the form of a thought you have Or you'll have a feeling Even a feeling of love washing over you And the more you meditate The more you listen to your heart The happier and more inspired you'll be So let's try it We'll only do 4 minutes Easy peasy So let's get comfortable Whether you're in a chair or on your bed Make sure pillows are right or your blanket Make sure you're warm enough and comfortable And close your eyes Just breathe normally Just noticing your breath coming in And your breath going out Imagine that you're walking down a path to a meadow Once you get to the meadow On your left,

You see beautiful flowers That are magenta and violet and yellow And a rose pink On your right,

You see the big sky In a beautiful blue Looks like a soft blanket It has puffy white clouds Look and see the different shapes that the clouds make As they float by Notice a rainbow in the sky And look towards the end of the rainbow Where you see a little butterfly It looks up to you and tells you You are perfect just the way you are You are enough You are loved just the way you are The butterfly sprinkles some magic fairy dust on you And is on her way As you look around Pick 3 of the flowers That are the colors you love the most Pick the first one Noticing its beautiful color Pick the second flower In a color you love And pick the third flower Notice how beautiful all 3 of the flowers look together Hold them close to your heart And remember you can come to this place anytime So walk down the path you came in on And now feel yourself back in your body Wiggle your toes and your fingers Maybe smile Take a deep breath And open your eyes I think it's pretty cool And you can come back to this peaceful meadow in your mind Anytime you want to Thank you for letting me share something I love with you I hope you enjoyed it
