Hello,
Hello,
My friends.
Boy,
Do I have a conversation for you all today.
Have you ever wanted to know how you change relationships?
How do you change people out there?
How do you improve relationships with other people?
How do you do it?
Because most of us were not taught how to do things like this.
How do we show up and ask for what we want?
How do we do all this stuff?
I got to tell you,
I had an experience with someone and she did just that.
And I worked with her and she truly changed the relationship she had with her father.
It was absolutely beautiful.
So I said,
You need to be on the show and talk about this because this is not just you.
This is being human.
We are clumsy when it comes to relationships.
We are clumsy when it comes to,
Um,
Really showing up in our adult chair and asking for what we want and knowing what we want This is why I do this whole podcast is what the adult chair is all about So when I hear someone have such a profound experience with this work,
I like to bring them onto the show so they can share with you what they did to change their relationship.
So welcome to the adult share podcast,
Tracy Brown in the house.
Yeah.
Thank you.
I'm so overjoyed to be with you.
I'm so overjoyed to be with you as well.
This is going to be a powerful conversation.
Thank you for joining me.
And this is going to be a vulnerable conversation.
Let's just say that right up front.
So I want to let everyone know a little bit about who you are,
If that's okay,
And a tiny bit of the backstory here.
Today,
Tracy and I are going to be talking about,
She's going to share an experience.
It was so profound.
I was like,
You must be on the show and share this.
About the power of doing this work,
The adult chair and how you,
By changing your in,
You work with yourself internally to change your external reality.
I say this,
I teach this,
But when I hear someone share their story around how they did that,
I'm like,
Come on and talk about it.
Cause I know other people will be able to hear your story today and plug it into their own lives and change their reality in such a beautiful way.
So Tracy is actually one of my adult chair coaches and she said,
Said,
Okay,
She raised her hand and said,
I always ask people,
Okay,
Either where are you stuck?
Were you stuck with a client?
All the things let's,
Let's work on it.
And then we do live coaching.
So Tracy raised her hand and said,
I have something I would like to discuss with you.
And from here,
I'm going to hand it over to you,
Tracy,
Let us know what happened next.
Yeah,
It was so great.
I,
The minute you said,
Does anyone have anything?
I raised my hand like,
Yes,
I do.
I do.
And I actually,
What's interesting is I didn't know what it was,
I knew that I was going to be having a really important conversation with my dad,
Who was in town visiting me.
And I had had this whole story in my head of everything that had happened and what I was going to say.
And as I was rehearsing this,
I knew that there was like,
All I could describe is like there was some gunk inside of me.
I could almost feel blockages and I knew that something was not right.
Aligned within myself before I had this call.
And I knew,
I was like,
Oh my gosh,
This is happening on a Monday.
This is so perfect.
Like right after this,
My dad and I are going to lunch.
And I just knew that I needed to work through something.
So can you,
Would you be willing to share with everyone,
Like just a little bit more about what you wanted to talk with your dad about or what you wanted in your relationship,
Et cetera,
To share with everyone,
Like what you wanted to accomplish with your dad.
Yeah.
I mean,
In the larger picture,
I wanted to feel closer to him.
Yeah.
I'm in Atlanta now.
He's still out in Los Angeles.
And distance is a real thing,
Even with all this technology.
And I had been feeling Angry.
Resentful,
Hurt.
I sleep really well now.
But a couple things had popped up in the previous like six months.
And I would wake up at 3am and just think about it.
And it's like you say,
Michelle,
Just ruminating thoughts,
Ruminating thoughts.
And I knew that the power of being in person with him,
There's something where we get to tune into each other's energies,
It's not a conscious thing.
And I really wanted to take advantage of it and talk to him about how I had been feeling,
And really how these experiences had made me feel.
For as as much work as I've done and as vocal of a Gemini that I am.
As you know,
Yes.
And being a good communicator,
I realized there were so many moments where I wasn't communicating with my dad.
And I was out of alignment.
And I needed to speak my truth,
Even if nothing was going to change from his end.
That was okay.
I knew that I needed to get clean and clear from my side.
This is such good stuff.
If I might,
I want to fill in some,
Some,
Some things here for people,
Because I know that others will relate to this.
When we think things are a certain way.
So you and your dad,
You were in story,
As we say,
You were making up stories about your dad.
You wanted to have a different or closer relationship with your dad.
And yet,
When he would come visit,
He would go see this friend and that friend and go do other things instead of spending as much time with you as you wanted.
Is that fair?
Is that true?
There is one person that he would want to see.
And in 48 hours,
They felt precious.
And I wanted him to be with me.
Yeah.
I said,
OK,
Before he gets here,
I'm actually going to have the conversation and or at least make the request.
Yes.
So I made the request.
Request.
You're only going to be here.
I really would prefer you just be with me.
And he came back a week later and said,
Look,
I'm 79.
He's 81.
I'm going to go ahead and do this and see his friend.
Uh-huh.
Yeah.
And so I took a,
I took a day and then I said,
That's unfortunate,
But if that's what you want to do.
Then do that and let's just move on.
And I knew at that moment,
I had spoken my truth and it gave me some peace.
And it also allowed me then to be back in control of how my life unfolds.
And so I really had to think about Am I going to let my ego get in the way?
I could have said to him,
Hey,
You go off and you do your thing.
I'll be here,
Right?
And when I tuned into that,
I was like,
Oh,
That's a child saying,
I'm not getting what I want.
And I had this moment because I was journaling about it.
Journaling is so powerful.
Yes.
Yes,
Totally.
And as I was writing it out,
I'm like,
Oh my gosh,
I am being a child.
If I make that decision.
I'm happy from the adolescent.
Mm hmm.
Yep.
Yeah,
It is the adult choice in this.
I just want to be with my dad.
So that I'm going to let that lead and I said,
OK,
Great,
We'll go.
And we'll do it together.
And even in that,
I could see,
And it was interesting because prior to having that realization,
I'm talking with my friends,
Telling them the whole story and all the things,
And I realized,
Even when I had made that decision,
Right,
I'm still in some kind of story.
And maybe that's what it was,
Michelle,
That I knew like,
Okay,
We've had that discussion.
I've kind of cleared that hurdle,
If you will.
But now there's a bigger discussion about things that had occurred in the spring and at Christmas when He hadn't really expressed that he wanted to have me there.
Come visit,
Please come with us.
They were going on a destination and I was very upset that he seemed to have a take it or leave it approach.
Okay.
So this was the bigger discussion we were leading up to.
Got it.
So then when you came on to work with,
Or when you came on to our Monday mentoring that we do with the coaches,
You said,
And I said,
OK,
Who's who wants to work through something?
Is anyone ever anything up?
And you're like,
I do.
Right away.
I was like,
Let's go what's happening?
So you shared all that you just shared you said,
You know I've got to go have this conversation with my dad You went on and you're like,
I think I should say this and maybe you were going you were going on and on and on And then what happened?
During that call.
Uh,
So first of all,
You held me to say,
Wait a minute.
Can you hear the story that you've created that you don't even know if that,
If all that is even true?
Yes.
And I was like,
Oh my goodness.
I am totally doing that thing.
Yeah.
What was,
Tell us some of the stories.
Cause this is what all humans do this.
We do this,
You know,
If someone doesn't show up or someone doesn't invite us,
Our ego comes on,
That puts us in the adolescent chair and we start trying to out why and that's the story that the ego is making up.
It's not real.
Yeah,
100%.
What were some of your stories that you were making up?
Well,
The adult me says,
Your dad loves you.
But there was this voice inside of me that says,
My dad doesn't care about me.
I know my dad loves me,
But does he actually really,
Really love me?
As if he did,
He would do X,
Y,
And Z.
All the rules that I made up,
P.
S.
He would prioritize me.
He would want to spend time with me.
He would say,
Of course,
I'll spend 48 hours with you.
Of course,
Come for Christmas,
All the things.
Yes,
Of course.
I'll make space for you.
We'll figure this out.
Like,
Yes,
I just want you here.
And it was like I needed to hear those words.
And if I didn't hear those words in my head,
I had I made up the equation.
Then he doesn't love me.
OK,
Pause.
I hope everyone just heard that.
You made it up in your head.
It's got to look like this.
Like,
And only this.
Yeah.
And if it doesn't.
Then what?
He doesn't love me.
Yeah.
So there was only one way for him to show up and express and show you that he loved you just one way.
And it was your way.
And he didn't do that.
So then you're so then the ego comes online and tries to figure out what am I supposed to do?
He doesn't love me because he's not showing up that way.
This is what we do as humans.
It's just it's it's actually more normal than you can even imagine.
That's what the ego does.
It comes in to figure it out.
We've got to become aware,
Though,
That we're setting up rules that may not be healthy for us and healthy for that other person.
Okay,
So yeah.
Yeah,
Well,
And it's so I love that you just said that because There are a thousand different examples I could pull that shows my dad really loves me.
And yet,
None of that mattered.
There was this,
You know,
There's a million things and yet,
Nope,
There's still.
If he didn't give me this,
Then.
.
.
Everything else is out the door.
And you know,
When we're in the,
At the adolescent chair,
Which is our ego perspective,
It's a very,
I always say it's a very narrow little itty bitty,
Teeny tiny perspective.
And it gives us usually one option.
When we're in the adult,
Our awareness,
Our perspective opens way up.
All of a sudden there are all these different choices and ideas that we didn't have.
So that's what we do.
And again,
It's not just you,
It's just what we do as being humans.
So we want,
So I knew when you came on that call,
Right away,
I was like,
I have to get her a new adult chair.
I knew it.
You're like,
Well,
It looks like this.
And so then we did,
Then we do some parts work.
Oh,
My gosh.
Yes,
We did huge parts work.
Uh huh.
Okay,
Share.
So I tell us what happens next.
Yeah.
So you you said to me,
Who was saying that?
Who is having all of these beliefs?
And because I do so much of this work with myself and with my clients,
I could immediately get into the energy,
But it was like,
There was like a two-year-old,
There was like a five-year-old,
There were all these different,
Like,
Me,
Me,
Me.
And I was really lost,
Actually.
I was so in the energy of it all,
I couldn't figure out,
Like,
And I do this all the time with clients.
I couldn't figure out how to get out of it.
And you said to me,
Who?
Who is the person for all of those that wants to come through or something like that?
I said,
Who's who's the mouthpiece for who can be the mouthpiece for all of those parts that are chiming in?
Like who can be the speaker would be another way of saying who can speak for all of the parts that are here.
And immediately,
It wasn't any of those ages.
It was a three-year-old.
Yeah.
And I could see her.
She came right in.
She came right in.
And I could feel her,
Oh my gosh,
I could feel her loneliness.
I could feel how sad she was.
I could feel that she felt forgotten.
And that she wasn't special.
Yeah.
Woo.
Yeah.
It was big.
Yeah.
And I can't remember,
You may have guided me or like asked me another question.
Yeah,
We worked then with a three-year-old you.
And what I really want people to hear,
And this is so tender and beautiful,
Tracy,
Thank you,
Is that these parts of us step in and run our lives.
This happens with every human.
We cannot escape it,
We all have these parts,
But what we want to do is become consciously aware of which part of us is speaking,
And that's why I said,
Who's saying this?
Who is this here?
And we did some beautiful work with that little beautiful three-year-old and the gang of parts that were behind her.
Yeah.
And there was a true shift on that call,
No doubt.
Gosh,
I bawled.
I was just crying so hard.
Like,
I could feel my body just shaking because I was crying.
And,
Like,
When I look back at it,
Now it was such ancient pain.
It was so old and it,
But it was so big.
And I must have cried for like 10 minutes,
Michelle,
Like just,
It felt like it just kept coming and coming and coming.
You know,
It wasn't like a two minute cry.
It was like old,
Old crying.
And so much that I had been carrying that Even when you do this work,
I'm learning.
You can peel back a layer and a layer and a layer.
And when I think,
And you tell me,
But I feel like.
Like this is a core wound.
Yes.
I can tell this is something that my soul came in.
This was like a soul vow that I came into this world with.
And I feel like when these bow,
When we have the big ones,
The biggies,
You know,
There's a handful.
Yeah.
I feel like there are so many layers and you just keep peeling them and peeling them.
And I'd been doing that,
But whatever we did and that time of just releasing all of it,
It felt like so many more layers came off.
You know what I mean?
Yeah,
I do.
I do.
And here's the thing.
It could have been the root of that could be from childhood.
Could be generational.
This stuff gets handed down,
Gets passed down like a baton through our DNA.
It just gets passed down.
It could be your great,
Great,
Great,
Great,
Great,
Great,
Great,
Great,
Great,
Great,
Great,
Great grandmothers.
Like I don't even know,
And it doesn't really matter,
But we do know that what we are dealing with,
Living with and experiencing today,
It's in there and there are some deep roots.
And when we find those,
Those,
I call them the tap roots,
We want to go get them and pull them out.
And you did that so beautifully that day.
It was beautiful work.
That you did.
Beautiful.
Yes.
And that is such a good point because thank you.
I love it.
You said that I had,
I've since journaled about this a few different times and more just keeps being revealed.
But that part that you said about the generational,
When I think back to what I know about my dad's childhood and I think about even my mom's childhood.
Yeah.
That existed for both of them.
And absolutely it was in my DNA.
Yeah.
So our job in today's reality though,
Is to go get those parts,
Find those parts.
And this is when we are,
This is why I say triggers are a gift because when we're triggered,
It's an opportunity to look at the parts that are navigating our life in that moment.
And for you,
It was a whole gaggle of parts.
There were so many they were like a posse for sure.
And it's so funny,
Because I think back to when I did my coaching training with you,
And now it's like,
What,
Four years ago.
And I remember the first time you said,
I love triggers,
They're gifts.
And I was looking at some other coaches like,
Like,
What is she saying?
And now,
You couldn't be more right.
And when we got done,
And I felt it like immediately,
When we got done,
I felt like there was more energetic space inside of me all of a sudden.
It literally was like,
Oh my God,
I feel like I've got all this.
Room inside.
That I didn't have.
And it was interesting because it was like,
I felt like something was gone.
Like something was just It wasn't in my body.
It wasn't in my energy field.
Like something had literally dropped away because I felt lighter.
I felt softer.
All of a sudden I started feeling almost like a compassion around the situation where before I was just feeling like defensive.
Right?
You know what I mean?
Right.
So beautiful and and when we are able to do the parts work and move those parts away and they do give us more space sometimes they integrate Sometimes they they transform.
It doesn't even matter.
It's an energy,
Right?
But it gave you more space.
Yeah.
It gave you more space,
And then we could pull the energy out.
We're just doing energy work all the time,
Right?
So then the energy of the adult you,
The adult chair,
Came in,
And you could sit down in the adult chair,
And then you're able to see the situation in a whole new way.
It's a whole new way.
And you gave me the best.
Like invitation.
You said,
Okay,
From this point on,
I don't want you to think about your dad.
I don't want you to think about the conversation.
Just let,
It was something like,
Just let this experience we've had,
Just let it do its thing for the next hour long.
You're like,
I don't even want you to like think of one word.
Oh yeah,
Cause you were trying to set up,
You're like,
Okay,
So then when I go to lunch,
Should I say this and that?
I go,
No,
Stop.
Because from our adult chair,
When we're truly sitting in the adult,
We're living in divine presence,
We're living in the present moment,
We are grounded.
And this is what's so cool,
Is that the words that we choose that come down through and out of our mouth,
When we're when we are in our adult are very different than the words that we will say when we're in our adolescent.
And when we go into conversations like you are going to have,
I think I said to you,
Just be in your heart in the moment.
That's it.
And allow and this is where you trust that the words will come through and they will be coming down and out of you from your heart space and they're going to be vulnerable and they're going to be beautiful and That's what you did.
And that's exactly right.
And the minute you said it,
I was like,
Oh,
Yep,
She's 100% right.
Like I could just feel it.
I was like,
Yep,
That's it.
So I didn't think about it again.
And we went and we had lunch.
And afterwards,
We went and got coffee and we took a walk.
And I just said,
Dad,
You know,
There's some things that I just want to share.
Yep.
And he was like,
OK.
And this is important.
I just want,
Excuse me,
I just want to say this,
Everyone that is listening,
Here's why being in the moment is important and being in your heart,
Because your dad,
And I said this to you,
You said that to your dad,
But when you said it,
You were in your heart.
There's some things I want to share.
There's a very,
When we are in our heart space,
Getting ready to share,
And even saying what you just said,
There's a much better chance that then they're going to hear you.
From their heart space versus a defensive place.
Like,
What did I do wrong?
So I said to you,
If you're in your head saying this,
He's gonna hear you from a defensive place.
So in other words,
When we're in our head,
We're in the adolescent,
We're in the egoic perspective.
And then a lot of times the other people are like already ready for it.
They're like,
Well,
What do they want to talk to me about?
And our shield and sword come up ready for battle.
You did it beautifully.
You said,
There's some things I want to share.
And you were in the moment in your heart.
And?
Absolutely.
When,
And when you come from a place of,
And I love what you just said,
Because when,
When you're coming from a place of I just am sharing,
I am sharing how I feel.
This is just how you feel.
You're not saying,
You've done this or what I probably would have said prior to our working together on this.
And I just said,
I just want to share how I'm feeling.
And I told him of a couple of the things that had happened.
And I just said,
It really,
Really hurt me.
I was really,
Really hurt.
And My dad and I just kind of talked it through.
He was like,
I did not know you felt that way.
You know,
I'm sorry,
I would not want you to feel that way,
Because I always want you with me.
I just,
You know,
I don't want you to feel bad if you have to say no.
And.
.
.
It just opened up this larger conversation for me to be able to say,
I got me.
You don't have to worry about that.
I got me.
I just want to know that you want to be with me.
" And I could see him,
He got this sweet smile on his face,
And he was kind of teasing me in the way that we do.
He's like,
Oh,
You want to be with me?
I'm like,
Yes,
I do.
Oh,
They say,
Well,
Let's do this.
And so he said,
Let's go somewhere.
Let's go somewhere that's just you and me.
And we'll do that.
So in September,
I'm going to fly out West,
Spend a couple of days home in LA.
And then he and I are going to go up to Portland and go to Mount Hood and go to Willamette Valley,
Do a little wine tasting and just be together.
And he's as excited as I am.
And I heard the things I needed to hear,
Which is how much my dad really does love me,
How much he really does want to be with me,
And the power of when we speak our truth.
From our heart.
Not only do we open up the field for greater possibilities of what could come through.
But it's almost as if we are.
Almost as if we are giving an invitation.
For a different outcome.
So well said.
You're giving an invitation for a different outcome.
It's an invitation to come and respond from your heart,
Because I'm in my heart.
And I'm curious then,
Based on how you felt before the call that we did,
I mean,
Were you surprised then when you did sit down with your dad and had this beautiful conversation with his response?
I kind of was.
I kind of was.
He was so open and receptive.
And it just felt like we were clearing out some gunky energy that had been there because our hearts were like connecting.
Yeah.
And that's what felt really different.
Oh my gosh,
I love it.
Yeah,
I love this so much.
And you know,
I heard you say,
You know,
Underneath everything that you said to him and all the parts and all the stuff underneath it all was,
I want to be with you.
Yeah,
That statement.
I just want to be with you.
And you want to know that he would like to be with you.
And he said the same thing.
Yeah.
What a beautiful experience for your dad,
Too,
To have someone just speak with such vulnerability and truth and honesty.
Yeah,
I think there's something really powerful when we trust ourselves enough to be vulnerable.
Yes,
I think vulnerability,
When we share the most authentic and honest parts of ourselves.
Yeah.
I think that we open up this space for someone else to be able to do the same.
Yep,
For sure.
Yeah,
For sure.
And it's interesting,
You know,
We talked a little bit about,
I can't remember if we talked about this,
Michelle,
We might have.
I also believe when we shift our energy within us,
We're not just shifting the energy actually within us.
We're shifting the energy in the collective consciousness around us.
And I have no doubt that when I started to heal myself,
There was a different frequency that emitted,
If you will.
I know somewhere that also helped to heal him somewhere.
A hundred percent.
Yes.
Yeah.
No doubt about it.
Yeah,
And I have no doubt that there somewhere in the consciousness that he pulls from,
He was able to receive that,
That there was no pent up stuff anymore.
And I really feel that that allowed him to be more of who he is,
Who he truly is.
Wow.
At 79,
Did you say?
Yes.
How beautiful.
What a gift.
What a gift.
What a gift,
You know?
I remember the week after you had the conversation with your father,
We were all,
I said,
Well,
What's new?
You know,
What happened?
And you said,
I said,
What was the outcome?
And you said it better than expected.
Like I could have not even guessed that it would have gone this well.
And now my dad and I are going to travel together.
We were all like,
What?
Like this is what I'm saying,
Our ego.
Would never have guessed that.
Because the ego can only base our future.
On what we have experienced in the past.
Yeah,
I hope everyone really heard that.
So when we start thinking about the possibilities of the future,
Oftentimes we're just basing it on what we've already,
The ego's going,
Well,
You've only experienced this.
So it's,
It can't go better than that.
Yeah,
Right.
Yep.
And when we do that,
What we're actually really doing is we're just pulling the past energy and we're bringing it into our present,
Which then creates the thing that we don't want.
Exactly.
It's what we don't want.
What are you doing?
I mean.
.
.
Gosh,
We're just humans.
I know.
And we're messy and we all are.
But the way to the way to get out of that is to sit squarely in the moment.
And not have a guess or a wonder about how it's going to go when we have that conversation.
We sit in the moment and we just keep going back to I don't know how it's going to turn out.
I'm going to hope the best,
Of course,
Always.
Yeah.
And I'm going to stay right here.
I'm going to.
How do you say in the moment you what did you do?
To stay in the moment and not allow yourself,
Because the ego,
Of course,
Wants to project into the future to try to get yourself ready for lunch,
And that conversation,
And you better do this,
And you better say this,
Da-da-da-da-da,
And you stayed in the moment.
How do you do that?
I did.
I mean,
First of all,
I think that we have a choice in the thoughts that we feed.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
Yeah.
My choice was.
I'm not going to think about anything more.
I'm just going to be with him in this moment.
So part of it was I really made a conscious choice.
About what I was going to think and believe.
And I carried in a belief,
What if this is better?
Than you can even imagine.
Ooh,
That's good.
Yeah.
Like what if,
Because after we got off the call,
I took a couple minutes.
And just breathe,
Kind of breathe the energy through.
And I said,
What if.
What if this is,
Because I'll often say,
I'll call on my team and I'll often say,
You know,
Please bring whatever is in my highest and greatest good and so much better than I can even imagine.
So I just said,
What if this is better than I can even imagine?
Whenever we want to create something,
We can keep the field of possibilities open like when we start to bring in ideas of how we think it's going to be or what we want or whatever start to influence the field of possibility and we start like collapsing the the walls,
If you will.
But when we just say,
Even better than I can even imagine,
It's like opening up the field of possibility for anything to come in.
I love that.
Yeah.
Which is really powerful when we create whatever we want to create and we stay in that space,
Like you said,
Of openness,
Of neutrality,
Of what they could be.
And that's exactly what happened.
You would have never expected your dad to say what he did.
And all of a sudden you're taking a trip together.
It was like,
Wait,
What?
Yeah,
I know.
I know.
And it's been,
You know,
What's so cool is that We've been communicating more texting back and forth,
I'll hop on the phone,
He'll reach out to me,
Like we've just had the dialogue has just been so much more plentiful where it might be a month or two months that would go by.
Wow.
Yeah,
Yeah.
And so we're just talking a lot more.
And the other interesting thing.
Is you know,
Like this situation might be about my dad and I.
But it's really not about him.
It's about what's happening inside of me.
And what beliefs am I carrying?
And it's like that little three year old isn't just informing my relationship with my dad,
Or my relationship with my husband.
Ooh,
Tell us more.
Right?
Yeah.
To ask me like,
Why are you dragging me into this?
Because that's what we do.
We do,
Honey.
I know he knows this.
I find that,
You know,
When you're married,
We've been together for 18 years,
There are these like unconscious dances that we can get into when we're like working through something.
Yeah.
There was a time where There was something that he often does that I might have more of a charge around.
And I found myself not having that same charge.
Like almost like not being sucked into it as so much,
Right?
Where I could just be a little bit more like neutral.
Like if I said I was 100% neutral,
That wouldn't entirely be true.
But if I said if I was about 90% neutral,
That's true.
Wow.
Yeah.
And I noticed like,
Oh,
That's kind of different.
Because I think it wasn't about me.
And I could see that whatever he was doing and whatever he,
You know,
Really has nothing to do with me.
Yeah.
No.
Yeah.
Isn't that wild?
This is what happens when we do our personal work.
It's a ripple effect.
It's a domino effect.
So we think we're working on this one thing with my dad.
But then when you are working again with that one part,
The three year old and the gang behind the three year old,
It just it's like a domino effect.
Effect through our entire life.
Different relationships will improve.
The way we see the world is very different.
It's like someone is wiping off our lenses that were a little foggy.
I can see clearer.
I'm not as triggered.
Like all of these things happen when we land in the adult chair.
It's wild.
Yes,
A hundred percent.
And I love what you said because it's so true.
It's like we wear these glasses and all of our beliefs and all of our wounding are just kind of sitting on the lens.
Yes.
And that's what we look through our entire life.
Is through those kind of dirty mucky.
Yes.
Yes.
Right.
And doing this and doing this inner work.
It's like you're just kind of cleaning off the lenses a little bit.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
And the more we clean the lenses off,
The more our,
Again,
It's all about our reality.
We want to change our reality.
We think we have to go outside of ourselves to manipulate this person or change this.
If that would be better than I'd be happier.
It's a hundred percent an inside job,
Is it not?
Yes,
100%.
And I feel like I remember you saying this at our training,
Which was like,
When you do your work,
You're in a frequency,
A new frequency,
And that person has to kind of meet you there.
Yes.
So it's going to change the energy of the relationship or the conversation just through that.
Very true.
Very,
Very true.
I am so,
I have to tell you,
I am so,
So grateful.
I mean,
I told you this before we got on,
But I'm so grateful for you and this work that you're teaching us to do,
That we get to do because like,
It can be scary.
Like it can be scary to go back and like,
It was painful,
Like for sure.
It was painful.
But those 10,
12 minutes,
However long it was of that deep pain.
I feel freer now.
I'm happier.
I've done my inner child work for a long time now,
Right?
Ever since you taught me,
I've really been doing this work.
And the joy that we get to live in every single day is palpable.
I said this to Todd,
My husband,
The other day.
I was like,
We don't have any idea of how good life can actually really be.
Yeah.
Feeling this.
And it seems scary,
But it's like,
Just stay strong and.
.
.
Just trust it because the other side is so much better than you can imagine like straight up.
Oh I,
People tell me,
And I'm sure people tell you like,
You're a different person.
You're a different person.
Like everything starts to change.
And the thing that really jumped out at me,
Which I hear a lot is it took you,
You said,
You know,
The 10 or 12 minutes of pain that I sat in that work that we did was maybe 12 minutes that we worked together,
Not 25 years of therapy,
Not dragging your dad in.
You changed.
Within 12 minutes and radically like change this relationship with your father.
And it's better than ever now because you sat and did this work.
That's how fast this work is.
It's.
It's minutes,
Not years.
Super fast.
It's minutes.
Yeah.
And I really recommend,
I mean,
What I did.
The journaling after,
I think is such an important part of the process because that's The integration.
You're reading my mind.
I was gonna say the integration.
Yeah.
People can't.
You don't forget the integration.
Yeah,
Because oftentimes,
And I didn't journal.
I probably waited like four or five days for journaling.
And I kept hearing,
It's like my guys were like,
You need to journal,
You need to journal.
And I was like,
I'm going to get there.
And so one morning after meditation,
It was like,
All right,
Let's just do it.
And as I was writing,
There were more realizations that I was having about how that old belief had been informing me.
And it was like,
In that moment,
It was just like a pin to a bubble,
That burst,
That burst.
And there was so much more that I learned from having written.
Dang girl.
This is incredible.
Thank you so much.
Is there anything else you want to share about your experience?
This was so beautiful.
And I know this was vulnerable.
And again,
When I heard when we went through this together,
I was like,
You have to share this because this is such a common thing for people.
Is there anything else that you want to share about your experience?
Just that,
You know,
My three-year-old I can like,
Even though the energy of all the stuff is gone,
I still keep in touch with my three-year-old.
I went back and I visited her a couple times and she's still there.
And I think that's an important part because sometimes those little beings still need more love.
Yep,
For sure.
To know that.
For sure.
So I think that's a really important part.
But I think I'm complete.
I think I'm complete.
It was that easy.
It doesn't sound like it,
But it really was that easy.
Yeah,
I agree.
If I can do it,
Anybody can do it.
I say the same thing.
I'm like,
People,
If I can do this,
Anyone can do it.
And it's really profound work within this model.
So thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
Thank you so much.
I love you,
Michelle.
I just,
I feel so blessed that Whatever,
Whoever guides,
Whoever led me to you did so,
Because you literally have changed my life.
I really do love you.
I love you too,
Babe.
Right back at you.
I'm so happy to have you part of our adult chair family.
So thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
