Hello there,
And welcome to this short mindfulness meditation.
My name is Melissa,
And I will guide you through just a couple minutes of mindfulness.
So wherever you are,
Whether you're at work,
At home,
Out in the wild,
Just take a moment to pause.
Close your eyes if you are able and comfortable,
And if not,
Just soften the gaze.
Start to notice your breath.
Not changing anything about the breath,
Just noticing it.
Taking some time out of our day to be mindful can be really beneficial,
Not just for the rest of our day,
But for days and weeks to come.
Even if you just take a few minutes to connect with the breath and the body,
You are cultivating a more intentional life.
Now as you're noticing your breath,
Maybe notice what it feels like in the belly as you inhale and exhale.
Again,
Not changing anything about the breath,
Just noticing.
While it doesn't seem like much,
Just noticing is already helping you cultivate a more mindful life.
If the mind wanders,
Gently bring it back to the breath,
And now start to bring your attention back to your surroundings,
To where you are in time and space,
And continue on with your day,
Hopefully a little more mindful than before.
