And welcome to this quick little meditation.
My name is Melissa,
And I'll guide you through the next couple minutes.
So wherever you are,
If you can,
Either close your eyes or bring your gaze softly down to the ground.
And start to notice your breath.
We're not changing anything about the breath,
We're just noticing.
Notice what it feels like as you inhale and as you exhale.
And if the mind wanders,
Gently bring it back to the breath.
That's all meditation is,
Is gently bringing yourself back to your breath.
There's nothing you need to achieve,
No goal you need to meet.
And now start to notice the world around you.
Any sounds,
Sensations,
Smells.
Bring your awareness back to your surroundings.
Gently blink the eyes open and continue with your day,
Knowing that you are a little more mindful now.
