Our bodies are incredibly intelligent beings often overlooked in the spiritual pursuit. Inside this nidra, be lulled into relaxation where the body opens up and the mind slows down. During this state, it is possible to see, hear, and feel intelligence that might otherwise be missed by our incredible bodies. Journey forward and back calling upon the body to show you what it wishes for you to know. Visit with your Sankalpa during your first breath before the conditioning of your personality washed away its true essence.

Transcript

Before beginning the practice of yoga nidra,

Start by welcoming yourself to the present moment by lengthening,

Expanding,

Taking in slower breath.

Let your mind slow down to the pace of your still body.

Set up for yoga nidra in the shape of shavasana,

Corpse pose,

Allowing everything that is lingering,

Left undone to die here for this practice,

This moment,

So that what you may become is present.

Everything that doesn't exist inside this moment starts to fade into the backdrop.

Awareness beginning to let go of to-do lists,

Seeing insights come and allowing yourself to be present with them,

Not projecting into the future of what to do with any insight that comes,

But really just being present with your body.

Each breath,

An intentional breath of release,

Relaxing muscle to bone,

Bone into your support,

Widening right and left side bodies from midline,

Softening each finger,

Each toe,

Supporting the back of your head,

Pelvis,

Thighs,

Covering yourself in warm blanket,

Nurturing yourself,

Taking the time to care,

To set up for the most relaxed and restful practice,

Even if it's something that your mind is saying is not possible right now.

Deepen into your breath.

Slow down into your body.

Let your body guide your mind into a stiller space.

As the mind becomes still,

The inner watcher awakens.

And it's as though awareness is floating,

Unattached,

Undisturbed,

Still able to see all,

But releases its grip from ownership.

I am that thought.

That thought is me.

I must act on this thought.

I must respond immediately.

Shifts into I'm here.

I am present.

I am.

The paragraph,

The art of non-attachment,

Taking the seed of witness,

Something that we develop through the practice of yoga,

Nidra,

In your devotion to your practice,

You become strong in the witness seat.

See yourself observing thoughts without any need to react in any way,

Whether it's to attach or push away,

To simply be with and see who am I,

Who is behind those thoughts and who is watching these thoughts.

Rotation of consciousness and a maya kusha begins on the right hand side with the touch of a feather to the nerve endings of your skin.

Feel this feather float slowly across your right hand thumb.

Down your finger to the index finger.

Up,

Down.

Middle finger.

Up,

Down.

Ring finger.

Up,

Down.

Baby finger.

Up,

Down.

And in the very center of your palm,

The sankalpa that you have been working with,

Or the heart vow that you know to be true.

This is a affirming belief that you were born with,

That you are worthy,

That you are safe,

That you are loved,

That you are enough.

If any of those feelings,

Heart vows feel like yours,

I am valued,

I am loved,

I am safe,

I am worthy,

I am enough.

I am.

And your desired feeling that you know exists within you is placed inside your right palm,

Padded softly with a feather three times into the energy of your palm.

I am.

I am.

I am.

Awaken your body to the cellular memory of this statement.

Feel it glow and come alive with the residency of the words,

I am.

I am.

I am.

I am a mirror reflecting back who I am.

I see myself.

I feel the feather move up the right forearm,

Over the inside of your elbow.

The very tip of the feather caressing your bicep,

Tip of the shoulder,

The dip in your clavicle,

The height of the clavicle bone,

Down the center of your sternum.

And it's as though the feather splits apart into 10,

000 tiny feathers and moves from the midline of your torso to the right side of your body.

The 10,

000 feathers touch the tip of your hip,

Hip crease,

Right thigh,

Kneecap,

Top of your shin,

Top of your foot.

Feel the single feather as 10,

000 feathers collectively become one again.

Brush over the tip of your big toe,

Second toe,

Third toe,

Fourth toe,

Fifth toe.

Feel the cool touch,

The lightness of the feather.

Move from the tips of your toes to the tops of your shoulders,

The whole right side of your body,

Nerve endings alive and awakened with the sensation of feathers.

Let the rippling of feathers rest on the right side of your body.

And like the turning of a screen,

Bring awareness to your left side of your body.

Feel the feather touch the tip of your left thumb as it moves down your finger,

Up into the index finger,

Back down,

Up into your middle finger and back down.

Ring finger up,

Down.

Baby finger up,

Down.

Feel the feather touch the center of your palm,

An energy center.

Feel your Senkalpa warm within your palm.

I am.

Three times your body repeats back to you.

I am,

I am,

I am.

Feather moves up the left forearm,

The inside of your elbow,

Caressing the top of your left bicep,

Top of your shoulder.

Feel it pull just outside of the clavicle bone.

Feel it trace your clavicle bone to the center and down your sternum.

This magical feather parts into 10,

000 tiny feathers that spread out across the midline of your torso to the exterior of the left side of your body.

And you feel the nerve endings receive information from 10,

000 feathers midline to the left side of your body.

Feel these feathers rest over your left hip and into your left hip crease,

Over your thigh,

Kneecap,

Shin bone,

Top of your foot.

And at the tip of your big toe,

10,

000 feathers become one.

And the very tip ever so lightly brushes the top of your big toe,

Second toe,

Third toe,

Fourth toe,

Fifth toe.

Feel feathers through the left side body,

Awakening the nerve endings of the skin,

The total of your left side body.

Like a rippling in the wind,

Each nerve ending is awakened.

Tips of the toes,

Top of the shoulder.

Hold the left side body awareness and the sensation across all nerve endings,

Awakening the right side body and feeling this alive.

The skin as alive across your back body,

The whole of your back body,

The whole of your back body,

The whole of your back body.

Feel this awakened nerve energy at the center of your forehead.

There is an internal excavation of the third eye as the feather swirls above in the auric body,

Cleansing any stagnant or stuck energy that have created a veil.

And as the feathers move through the auric body,

Freeing the third eye,

You hear your Senkalpa three more times communicated from the subtle to the physical.

I am,

I am,

I am.

Within this yoga nidra practice,

We will be calling on the intelligence of the body.

We are asking the body to lead the mind.

The sub unconsciousness that exists within the body to dwell up from the deepest,

Darkest of depths,

What we need to see to heal.

Your body remains so soft,

So aware,

Unattached,

Undisturbed.

As you call upon your body to remember the nerve endings and physical structure of a baby.

Call upon your body to create the imprint of a baby.

And this child is you.

And that body is yours.

It's not separate from this body.

Call upon the energetic imprint of a child that has just been born.

And this child is you.

Releasing that version of yourself and your body.

Ask your body for its memory of you when you were five.

Invite any symbolism that could come through the inner senses.

There could be a story attached.

Have your body create a symbol or a memory of when you were five.

Ask your body for its memory of you when you were 12.

Be open to what comes,

Knowing that you are safe and that this is now.

Bring in the memory of turning 16.

Ask your body to remember 16.

Ask your body to recall any memories of an age that needs to be brought into awareness.

Bring in this age that your body is so willing to give you.

If there is nothing,

Stay unattached,

Open,

Observing.

Ask your body to create a symbol reflecting its current consciousness,

Its current state.

And be open to understanding what it means.

Now,

Ask your body for its intelligence of what your future body will be.

Call in your body in five years.

Create a symbol for it.

Ask your body to open itself to creating a symbol for your body in five years' time.

Ask your body for the intelligence to know what it feels like to transition,

To release this body,

To become spirit.

Stay grounded in your soft body as you open to the intelligence that exists within you.

Stay so steady in your breath as you begin to count backwards from your current age,

All the way down,

Until you follow a number out.

And ask your body to create a memory at that age.

Right where you lose track,

Ask your body to recall a memory,

What needs to be healed.

Once this memory has been received and it feels complete,

Begin again,

Counting backwards from your current age until you lose track,

And ask your body to bring forth a memory.

Follow your breath like the ocean tide,

Welcoming any experience,

Story,

Memory,

To arrive as you continue to count backwards.

From your current age,

Begin to count forward until you lose track of each breath as you count.

And where you lose track,

Ask your body for its wisdom.

What do I need to know?

What do I need to see?

What would you have me heal,

Body?

What would you have me heal?

And you can do this as many times as you need to,

Going forward until you lose track,

Asking your body what do you need to know,

Coming back to your current age,

And going forward again,

Counting each breath.

And still the counting,

Feel yourself go back to the moment of your first breath of air.

And what your heart came here to this earth knowing,

The Sankalpa that is vibrating through all nerve endings,

Cells,

Blood,

Tissue,

Bone.

Go back to your very first breath and feel your Sankalpa.

I am.

I am.

I am.

If you have fallen asleep during this yoga nidra practice,

We'll take with you what you need to know to awareness and waking state.

Begin to awaken the external senses,

Like a flower opening for the sun,

Petal by petal,

The external senses awaken.

You arrive back inside the room where you are.

The skin that you're in.

You can hear things that are far away.

Aware,

Unattached,

Without a story.

Each sound making its way into the very center of the eardrum.

Process through the brain.

Attached to a past experience.

See if you can release that past experience and become curious about sound.

Journey deeper as you unlock external sense after external sense.

As you become more aware of your surroundings,

Your positioning in space,

Your body naturally becomes a little more tense,

Grabs on a little tighter to the bone.

As you awaken into a beta state of waking,

Thinking,

Doing.

The practice of yoga nidra is now complete.

Haryam tatsat.

Whoa this was deep! Such a surprising practice. Miracles, medicine… my body feels cellularly lighter now. I can’t wait to revisit to see what else it unlocks. Thanks, Melanie. Skilfully led 🙏
