This 5-minute meditation focuses on the breath. Soft prompts guide you through this quick, mindful break and a final prompt instructs you to open your eyes when it's comfortable for you, while the music continues for a while longer. Calming music ("Moonstone - Ambient, Easy Listening Music" by Ken Elkinson) sets the tone for the meditation.

Take a few moments to settle into your seat,

Maybe wiggle into it a bit so that you're in a comfortable position,

And whenever you're ready,

I invite you to go ahead and gently close your eyes.

And just take a moment here to notice your breath as it's been breathing itself.

Maybe you notice it's fast or slow,

Maybe it's deep or shallow,

And without judgment,

Without forcing it,

Maybe you would like to take a moment to simply breathe with me,

Drawing in the breath for one,

Two,

Three,

Gently releasing it,

One,

Two,

Three,

And continuing this pattern of your breath for a few more gentle,

Quiet cycles,

Counting at your own pace.

As you continue to breathe in and breathe out,

I invite you to focus on a quality or a blessing as you breathe in and out,

Breathing in love,

Breathing out stress,

Breathing in gratitude,

Breathing out anxiety.

Noticing how your breath feels moving in through the nose and down to your lungs,

Maybe imagining it filling your lungs with nourishing oxygen.

Noticing when you're ready that you might be able to feel that breath move even further down into your body.

Maybe you imagine that breath lengthening down your spine,

Moving all the way to your seat and then back up again,

Releasing and settling.

Still breathing one,

Two,

Three,

And out,

One,

Two,

Three.

I invite you to listen to the music and simply attend to your breath over the next few moments.

And when you are ready,

You may end your meditation and gently opening your eyes.
