Hello my dear,
Welcome to this guided meditation to help you rest when you feel totally drained.
My name is Amber and I'm really glad that you're here.
You're in the right place.
Go ahead and find your comfortable position for today's practice.
You can stay seated or you're also welcome to lie down.
And whatever you do,
Just make sure that you're as comfortable as possible.
Maybe place a pillow under your head or drape a blanket over your shoulders.
And when you're ready,
You can start by closing the eyes and tuning in to the body.
Just being open here and listening in to what might be speaking to you today.
Maybe you'll relax the shoulders,
Relax the face,
Rest your arms by your sides and let the legs be nice and heavy.
And at this current moment,
You may not have the energy to do anything else beyond this.
And that's okay because all you have to do right now is be exactly how you are.
You can forget everything that's happened up till now,
Anything that's left to do.
These next 15 minutes are completely yours.
There's nothing to fix,
Nothing to respond to,
Nothing to do,
But just be here,
Breathing in and out,
Nice and slow.
And as you start to settle in,
Feel free to make any adjustments that would make you feel more comfortable,
Even just the tiniest amount.
Maybe you want to widen the stance of your legs or place your hands on the body somehow,
Knowing that your comfort is worth the effort.
And now let's take a few moments to check in with the body,
Just simply being open to how things are.
And we'll just begin our body scan at the feet,
Noticing the left and then the right foot,
Scanning your attention through the soles,
Tops of the feet and the toes,
Watching as they start to get nice and heavy.
As they rest here.
And then maybe you'll notice the heaviness continuing to fill the legs as we move upwards towards the calves,
Shins and knees,
Allowing them to fully and completely relax.
Next,
We'll bring the mind's eye to the thighs,
Hips and glutes,
Feeling heavy and grounded,
Resting against the earth beneath you,
Moving upwards to the upper body,
A feeling of restfulness and relaxation moving into the pelvis,
Stomach and back,
Dissolving any tension as you breathe in and releasing whatever you can on a breath out.
Noticing the upper torso,
Chest,
Shoulders and arms,
Noticing if there are any particularly strong sensations that are arising and see if you can continue to relax the body maybe just 1% more.
And now finally,
Allowing your head and the muscles of the face to get heavy.
Let the mind relax.
Let your thoughts become quiet until all there is left is the sound of your own breathing.
Let your body completely relax into the floor or the bed.
Let go of any effort you've been using to hold yourself up.
Let go of any effort you've been using to hold yourself together.
Knowing that you don't need to hold anything together right now because you can trust that the earth is holding you.
And if all you have the energy for right now is breathing,
That's perfectly fine.
Simply breathing in and out with no effort.
Just watching the wave of your inhale roll in and then watching the exhale bring the tide back out.
Each breath,
One by one,
Quieting the mind,
Quieting the body.
Sometimes when we surrender to what is,
When we accept the things that are not our choice,
That we have no control over,
Things that we wish were otherwise,
When we accept them exactly as they are,
Even if nothing in our external world changes,
We can find the peace that we've been looking for all along.
Thank you so much for meditating with me today.
Please take all the time you need to open your eyes,
Have a drink of water and wake up the body again.
Please be sure to take extra good care of yourself and I'll see you again very soon.
