Hello,
My dear.
If you are someone who is constantly booked and busy,
But struggles to slow down and take a moment for yourself,
Then this meditation is for you.
Let's begin today's meditation with 10 deep breaths and we'll count them together.
Inhale,
Exhale,
One.
Inhale,
Exhale,
Two.
Inhale,
Exhale,
Three.
And just like that,
Continuing on on your own time,
Perhaps if you're like me and your mind is constantly racing with to-dos and ideas,
Your mind may have already drifted away.
And if that's the case,
That's all right.
As soon as you notice it,
Just bring it right back.
Inhale and exhale.
Inhale and exhale.
And now let's start to bring our attention internally.
Notice how things are in your body today,
Starting with your physical body.
You may notice the temperature of the air on your skin,
The feeling of your feet flat on the floor.
And if you're carrying any sense of guilt or fear or perhaps a heavy sense of responsibility,
That's okay too.
We can make room for and hold these feelings in our awareness.
Perhaps you've noticed some tension in the stomach.
Perhaps there's a feeling of tightness in the heart or the chest.
We can hold space for these feelings while also remembering that as a steward of our one and precious life,
We also have a responsibility to the version of ourselves that is here in the present moment.
Both of these feelings and ideas can exist together at the same time.
It's very common to know that taking breaks is important while also struggling to actually rest.
And it just takes practice.
And any uncomfortable sensations you may be experiencing now are welcome here.
And let's just take a moment to breathe into them for another set of 10 deep breaths.
Inhale,
Exhale one.
Noticing where the tension is in your body.
Inhale,
Exhale two.
Breathing into that place.
Inhale,
Exhale three.
Breathing around that space.
Noticing the shape of it.
Inhale,
Exhale four.
Breathing into it and noticing how the feelings of tension interact with your breath.
Inhale,
Exhale five.
Continuing on in this way.
Inhale,
Exhale six.
Perhaps feeling a sense of release or letting go of something here.
Inhale,
Exhale seven.
Inhale,
Exhale eight.
Staying with it now.
Inhale,
Exhale nine.
And inhale,
Exhale 10.
And just releasing any effort,
Any control on the breath now.
Come back into your body,
Listening to the sounds of the room around you.
And just let yourself be.
Letting yourself experience a few moments of rest.
And when you're ready now,
Come back into the room where you are.
Bring some small movements into the fingers and the toes to warm them up again.
And whenever you're ready,
Opening the eyes.
Thank you so much for meditating with me today.
Let me know in a comment,
I'm curious to know,
How did it feel to take this moment of rest today?
Take good care and I look forward to seeing you again next time.
