Have you ever noticed that the hardest part of recovering from narcissistic abuse isn't always leaving.
It's trusting yourself afterwards.
You can leave the relationship.
You can block the number.
You can move across the country.
And somehow.
Or even years later,
You are still asking yourself.
Was it really that bad?
Maybe I overreacted.
Perhaps I was the problem.
If that sounds familiar,
You're not broken.
You're experiencing one of the most common effects of narcissistic abuse.
The loss of self-trust.
For years.
Someone trained you to question your reality.
I know.
I was there.
This person challenged your memories.
They minimized your feelings.
They rewrote events.
They convinced you that your instincts couldn't be trusted.
And after enough repetition.
Something dangerous happens.
You stop believing yourself and your own eyes and your own experience.
I want you to hear this.
The goal of healing is not simply getting away from them.
The goal.
Is returning to yourself.
The first thing I want you to understand is that confusion is a normal response to manipulation.
Healthy relationships create clarity.
Manipulative relationships create confusion.
If you've been second-guessing yourself constantly,
That doesn't mean you're weak.
It means you've been conditioned to doubt your own experience.
The second thing I want you to know is that self-trust isn't rebuilt through huge breakthroughs.
It is rebuilt through tiny moments.
One honest choice.
One boundary.
One moment.
Where you believe what you know.
Instead of what someone else tells you.
And third.
Healing doesn't require your life to become perfect.
It's not going to anyway.
The people around you may not understand.
Your responsibilities haven't disappeared.
The world hasn't suddenly become easier.
But you can begin trusting yourself within the life you have right now.
This week,
I want you to start a journal.
That is what I know is true.
Write down the facts.
Not fierce.
Not opinions,
Facts.
I felt hurt.
That conversation happened.
My body felt unsafe.
I deserved respect.
They are all simple truths.
Because every truth you write down becomes another brick in the foundation of self-trust.
And part of you is still wondering whether you're allowed to heal.
You are.
I'm here to tell you.
You don't need to hit rock bottom.
You don't need anybody else's permission.
You don't need proof that your pain was bad enough.
Your experience matters because it happened to you.
Healing starts when you stop carrying their voice.
Louder than your own.
