By closing your eyes and taking a deep belly breath in.
Hold and let it all go.

Now just do your best to be quiet and still and present.
And just listen.
Not with your ears.
Listen with your heart.
Feel the energy of your heart.
And when I say energy,
What does that mean to you?
What do you think energy is?
So a few seconds of silence and stillness and listen.
Amazing.
How did you do?
Now,
If you got distracted and you noticed yourself thinking about something else or wanting to open your eyes,
But you didn't,
Congratulations.
And if you did,
That's perfectly fine.
So let's try this again.
Deep belly breath in.
Hold.
And let it all go.
Okay,
So we're going to try and listen again.
Now,
Bring your attention,
Your focus to your heart.
Can you hear your heartbeat?
Can you feel it?
Great.
Now,
I want you to think of your heart like a little car.
It's an engine.
It's a machine.
But it's a very sensitive engine and machine.
It feels things.
It tells you things.
It guides you.
When you're happy,
This engine is happy.
And when you're sad,
This engine is sad.
So when it feels happy,
You can recognize the sensations.
And when it feels sad,
You can also feel a different sensation.
And so I want you to just listen to your heart again.
Just listening and thinking about something that brings you so much joy.
Think of something,
Your favorite toy,
Maybe mom and dad,
Maybe a pet.
So what is your most favorite thing?
And then listen to your heart.
Feel it.
Are you ready?
Okay.
Let's do it.
Amazing.
Now,
I want you to think of something that gives you peace,
That makes you feel relaxed,
That almost puts you to sleep.
And I want you to feel the difference of that energy,
That sensation in your heart to when you are happy.
Amazing.
So take this time.
Think of something that makes you feel relaxed,
Comfortable,
And at peace.
And then focus on your heart again.
Are you ready?
Okay.
Let's do it.
Amazing.
Did you notice any changes?
Did you notice a difference in your thoughts,
In the sensations in your body,
And especially in your heart?
So I want you to know that at any time,
If you feel sad or upset,
You can always close your eyes and think of something that makes you feel joy or peace and allow yourself to calm down and to choose how you want to feel.
You know,
That makes you very powerful.
Okay.
So one more exercise before we come back.
So I want you now to do your best to just be present.
And I want you to think about something that makes you feel special.
Think about it.
Do you have the most beautiful eyes or the most generous heart?
Do you always like to share your toys?
What is it about you that you think makes you special?
Did you find it?
Okay.
Now I want you to place this emotion,
This feeling in your heart,
As a little gift to yourself.
If you like,
You can think of it as a color or a toy or a shape.
And I want you to place it in the center of your heart,
In your mind's eye.
And then I want you to say one nice thing to yourself.
You can say something like,
You are special because I like you.
You are special because you're smart.
You are special because you're funny.
You are special because I love you.
Okay.
So now it's your turn.
Think of that very thing that makes you feel special.
Give it a color or a shape.
Place it in your heart.
And then say something nice to yourself.
How did you go?
How did that make you feel?
Amazing.
Okay.
So now we're going to come back into the space,
Back into the room,
Very slowly and gently.
So take a second now to just bring yourself back out,
Your attention listening to maybe sounds around you.
And when you are ready,
You can begin to wiggle your toes and your fingers.
And then open your eyes.
