Welcome to this intention setting meditation.
It's Matt Cook here and in this short session I will guide you to set you up for the perfect day ahead.
Now this meditation can be used in addition to your current meditation practice and personally I use it to finish my overall morning routine.
It's the last thing that I do before engaging with the outside world.
This process puts you in control,
Enabling you to channel energy consciously.
You will do this in three parts.
The first is what you'll be today.
The second is what you will have achieved and the third is how that feels in your body to have achieved what you set out to achieve.
So this can be mixed up each day.
Some days you might be clear on a specific task but other days your intention might just be to feel a certain way and maintain that all day.
My advice is to simply allow yourself to feel intuitively guided and go with the flow.
So with that said,
Let's begin.
So just find a comfortable position.
It doesn't matter whether you're sitting,
Standing or even moving gently.
It doesn't matter either if your eyes are open or closed.
Just go with whatever feels right for you but make sure you're in a posture that feels both alert and relaxed at the same time.
Becoming aware of your breathing now,
In through your nose and out through your mouth.
Just noticing the rise and fall of your chest and stomach.
Just feeling your shoulders beginning to drop now.
Feeling your jaw and face relax and just allow any tension to dissolve.
Just feeling more and more grounded.
And in this first part we're going to envision your state of being for the day ahead.
So just visualize yourself now gliding through your day.
Not thinking about what you've done,
Just think about who you're being.
So perhaps there's an intention to be more organized,
Focused or creative or simply it could be to be present,
Relaxed,
Free or fun.
Just go with the flow now.
Who do you want to be?
Just picture yourself embodying that quality right now.
And what word comes to you as you consider this intention for who you want to be today?
Affirm that word inwardly now.
And let's now move to the second part of our practice.
So what's your intention for what you've achieved today?
Visualize yourself moving through your day right to the end.
What have you completed and what have you achieved?
Allow the answer maybe to surprise you.
It doesn't even need to align with your expectations.
Your intention might be to finish something important like finishing and closing down a project,
Booking an appointment or phoning a family member.
Choose something now and see yourself finishing it with ease and flow.
So what did you visualize as your intention for what you've done today?
Affirm that inwardly now.
And now say I have effortlessly completed and then enter your intention.
And now we'll move to the last part of this session.
So visualize yourself at the end of your day having completed what you set out to achieve.
And just be there in your mind for me now.
Just imagine yourself accomplishing this specific intent.
And how does this feel in your body?
I'm just dropping into your body now.
Paying attention to any bodily sensations as you visualize accomplishing this intent.
And just be with that feeling now.
And now just say to yourself inwardly after me.
It's done.
It's done.
It's done.
Okay,
Your intention is now set.
The energy is guided.
And your day is now ready.
So have a wonderful day ahead.
And remember to return tomorrow.
Much love,
As always,
Matt.
