It is easy to get confused about what we truly want or accomplish... We forget the bigger picture and our true purpose. In this meditation, we let go of what is not ours to carry or is in the past. We ground ourselves using roots and forests as visuals. This is meditation to help guide us when facing big decisions at work or in life. This meditation is best done seated with your feet on the ground.

This meditation is to connect you back to your true self.

This one is best done seated with your feet to the ground.

Let's start.

Take a deep inhale,

Long exhale.

Close your eyes.

Bring your attention to the center of your head,

Behind your eyes.

You'll see it feels just a little quieter,

A little more peaceful.

You'll find it easier to relax and focus there.

Settle there.

And now,

Imagine yourself in a forest with tall trees all around you.

It is early in the day and it feels a bit wet.

You smell the damp earth,

The humid tree trunks.

You hear peaceful silence.

All of it feels slow,

Calm,

And big.

Now,

Picture what is under the forest floor,

The entire root system that supports this majestic forest.

You see the thick and thin roots intertwine.

Some go very deep into the earth,

And you see the soil getting darker and heavier as you go deeper into the earth.

Feel the reassuring,

Powerful strength of these roots.

Now,

Go back to the surface and visualize your feet on the forest ground.

They are firmly planted on a needle-covered path.

Feel the uneven texture under the soles of your feet,

And as you relax,

Feel your feet gently sink themselves into the ground like they too are part of the forest.

Like they too want to grow roots here.

They also want you to be stronger and more connected.

So you decide you need some roots too.

Visualize roots growing around your feet,

Growing up around your ankles,

Up around your lower legs,

And around your thighs and your hips.

The roots are now around your entire lower body.

As weird as it might be to have roots around your body,

Why not just go with it and fully experience this moment?

Imagine feeling the coarse and wavy texture of these roots.

Feel your feet firmly pressed into the ground,

And now make the roots even thicker and heavier.

Experience their weight around your body.

Feel how your hips and tailbone are being softly pulled toward the ground.

It feels comforting to be hugged by these roots.

And now imagine their warmth and touch are absorbing any thoughts,

Energies,

Or feelings that aren't serving you right now.

Any thoughts or emotions that might not even be yours.

Or maybe you already experienced them earlier in your day,

And it is time to let them go.

Whatever they are,

Imagine these energies being absorbed by the roots and traveling down deep into the earth where they dissolve.

Watch more feelings,

Thoughts,

And energies being taken away by the roots,

Taken away down into the earth,

Dissolving,

Becoming earth themselves.

What feelings come up now?

Maybe you feel a bit more grounded.

Maybe it's quieter.

Whatever it is,

Take note.

The roots around your lower body form your grounding cord,

And your grounding cord keeps you centered and true to yourself.

Take a deep breath and look around you.

You notice that there's actually two paths in front of you.

You had not noticed them before,

And the forest seems to be telling you to go forward.

So you do.

Each path looks different,

And you randomly go towards one of the paths.

With your grounding cord,

You take a first step on this path.

You can move your feet,

But your grounding cord tugs you very gently back.

It's subtle,

But it's enough that it makes it harder for you to continue down this path.

You realize your core and the forest are telling you something,

Telling you that this path might just not be your path.

So you turn around,

And you try the other path.

The other path instantly feels right and satisfying,

And it even looks brighter.

So you take another step,

And as you walk slowly,

You notice how grounded you feel,

How connected you are to this path.

You feel your cord and the roots moving in complete harmony with your steps,

Grounding you and yet moving with you.

It feels so natural and easy to be walking on this path.

With every step,

You feel yourself releasing thoughts,

Feelings,

Or energies that aren't serving you in this moment.

Visualize those energies in your body traveling to your grounding cord,

And traveling down,

And releasing into the earth.

Watch those energies dissolve and become earth.

How do you feel?

Maybe a bit more grounded?

Maybe a little bit more relaxed?

You start observing what is on this forest path.

What do you see?

Is it a straight or a curvy trail ahead?

Are there tall trees,

Or flowers,

Or bushes,

Or all of that?

What kind of light is on your path?

A gentle glow,

Or a midday bright sun?

Maybe you even see some animals ahead.

It feels exciting and energizing to be seeing all these things on your path,

All these things you'll get to experience during your journey.

And maybe you feel a little fear too,

And that is okay.

Accept it gently,

And let it go free.

You keep walking,

And as you walk,

You continue to let go of energies,

Feelings,

Or thoughts you don't need to carry on this journey.

And you feel more and more grounded,

And relaxed,

And happier.

You feel the energy of the forest more deeply guiding you.

And you know now,

Deep down,

That this path is your path,

And that you chose it as much as it chose you.

Tell yourself that when you find a curve in your life,

When you are not sure which way to go,

You'll remember your grounding cord,

And you will remember that specific moment when you felt the second path was right for you.

You'll remember the feeling of walking on your forest path,

With the forest energy guiding you forward.

Take a deep breath,

Open your eyes.
