This is a meditation to help you tune into your heart and get out of your head.
When we are too much in our heads and overthink,
Often we are in fear of something.
When we are in fear,
It is easy to get stuck there and forget how to live our lives from a place of creativity,
Possibilities,
And love.
We forget how to live and lead with our hearts.
Let's start.
Take a deep inhale and slowly,
Very slowly,
Exhale.
Close your eyes and return to your natural breath at a slightly slower pace than usual.
Visualize yourself in a big,
Open garden with lush green grass and flowers everywhere.
You see flowers in front of you,
Behind you,
To your left and right.
Imagine there are roses,
Jasmine,
Lavender,
Gardenias,
Lilacs,
And all of your favorite flowers.
See all the beautiful colors all around you.
What do you see?
Take in the smaller details of this picture.
Smell the air and pick up on all the flowery scents.
Really take it in.
Now,
Put your hands to the earth and feel the fresh,
Soft grass running through your fingers.
Feel the damp earth beneath your feet.
Settle your entire body in this space and feel your muscles letting go,
And enjoy this beautiful experience you created.
Feel yourself more connected to nature and to the earth.
Now,
Put one or both hands in the center of your chest,
And feel your chest lifting and contracting with each breath.
Keep your hands there.
Now,
Drop your attention,
Your awareness,
Into your heart.
Take your time to travel down there and settle.
Feel how different it is here.
Feel your awareness in the center of your body.
Now,
Let's visualize your heart.
Imagine it as a flower,
Just like one of the flowers in the garden we are in.
If you're not sure what flower,
Then imagine it as a rose.
Look at it from different angles.
See the color,
Petals,
Feel the softness.
See this flower,
Your heart,
In your chest.
And now,
Visualize your heart slowly expanding with each inhale.
See it grow stronger with each breath.
It's now slightly bigger.
Feel your awareness also slightly expand with your heart.
Feel the spaciousness in your chest.
And now,
Imagine your heart starting to faintly glow.
Create a picture of how beautiful it is.
Is it a gold dust type of glow?
Or more like a soft pink cloud kind of glow?
Or a mix of both?
Or something else?
Imagine the texture.
Imagine the color.
Bring your awareness back into your heart if you've gone somewhere else.
And sense how time feels slower here.
How warm,
Welcoming,
And safe it is.
There is no judgment from this place.
It just is.
With your next inhale,
See your heart glow just a bit brighter.
And feel the warmth expanding slightly in your chest.
If your hands are still on your chest,
Feel them also becoming warmer.
As your heart glows brighter with each breath,
See your heart becoming bigger,
Expanding.
Feel it and see it in your chest.
Feel your heart becoming stronger.
Stronger in a loving and gentle kind of way.
And now,
Visualize your heart blooming slowly.
Each petal gently opening.
Till your heart is finally in full bloom.
Completely open to the world.
Your heart glows even stronger and you can feel it in your entire body.
See your heart become so bright that your entire chest is now glowing too.
Bring your awareness back into your heart and realize that you are now in this glow.
Feel it.
Touch it.
What words would you use to describe the texture?
Does it have a smell?
Notice that you are in the center of this glow,
Expanding throughout your body without making any effort.
You are just breathing slowly and intentionally.
It is just happening without any effort.
You are just lovingly observing this glow,
Expanding to other parts of your body.
You are now living from your heart.
With this next breath,
See your glow spreading to all of your body.
Your shoulders,
Your neck,
Your stomach,
Your back.
Feel those areas also becoming warmer and softer.
With each breath,
Continue expanding the glow to the rest of your body.
Your hips,
Legs,
Feet,
Your arms and hands,
Your head,
Your ears.
You are glowing everywhere.
And you can still see your heart glowing stronger than everything else.
It is in the center.
It is where the light starts and grows,
Where everything begins.
Now keep breathing slowly and just enjoy this glow you created from your heart for a few moments.
Feeling every part of your body glowing.
How would your life be like if you made decisions from this place?
What feelings come up as you enjoy your heart and your body glow?
Maybe you feel more hopeful,
More open.
Whatever those feelings and sensations are,
Take a moment to map them in your body.
Label them.
Identify all those sensations so that you can recreate them and come back to this flower garden.
This garden where you open your heart to yourself and to the world.
Where you enjoy and lead with your glowing heart in full bloom.
Take a deep breath.
Release your hands from your chest.
Open your eyes.
