Hi everyone and welcome to this Mother's Day meditation.
We're calling this practice,
Oh Sweet Mother,
As a fun playful way of appreciating and celebrating some of the sweet,
Most sacred divine energy that we can find.
And this can mean many things to many different people.
It could mean simply just your own heart energy.
It could be related to a particular mother figure in your life,
A human mother,
Even an animal mother.
For some it might also resonate with spiritual or religious mothers,
Mother figures.
Please join me now in finding a comfortable position for the next five minutes,
Dropping into the body in a way that helps you find some stability,
Steadiness,
Supportiveness,
Using the bone structures to allow skeleton simply to hold itself upright,
Releasing any muscle tension that's unnecessary to hold right now,
Particularly the eyes,
The jaw,
The belly,
And coming now into the stillness and quiet that's available in the present moment.
Watching the passing flow of all senses,
All sensations,
Phenomena rising and falling,
Physical sensations in the body,
Thoughts and feelings flickering in and out,
External noises,
Feelings.
Opening up into the heart space within,
The radiant dancing energy that moves among all these phenomena changing,
The changeless behind all the changing.
Oh,
Sweet mother,
Sweet divine energy.
Staying close to this energy.
Allowing itself to present itself to you in images,
Words,
Or felt experience.
Allowing the divine sweet energy to absorb itself into all things,
Into your mind,
Into your mind,
Into the heart,
Swelling up the heart,
Filling it with love,
Kindness,
Soaking into the bones and the muscles and the cells of the body.
Oh,
Sweet mother.
And finally here,
If you feel called to,
You're welcome to place your hand on your heart,
Calling up gratitude for this mother energy,
For your mother if you want to,
For other mothers in your life,
For Mother Earth,
For the mother energy that's available to us right here and now.
Oh,
Sweet mother.
