Snippets of Wisdom,

Number 66,

Beneficial Powers of Quiet.

Do you ever get quiet?

How does being quiet feel to you?

Does it make you uncomfortable?

Do you enjoy it?

Why would we even want to get quiet in the first place?

Are there benefits to being quiet?

Let's review some of the beneficial powers of being quiet,

How to get quiet,

And how being quiet affects our physical bodies.

First let's discover some benefits of the powers of quiet.

Quiet allows the stillness to calm the mind,

Quieting the monkey mind.

Quiet allows our thoughts to quiet,

Which include those pesky resisted thoughts.

Quiet allows for our intuition to flow through us,

Offering inspired ideas or action steps.

Quiet allows us to get into the receiving mode as we move into our day.

Second,

We need to know how to get quiet.

Here are a few suggestions.

A quiet mind meditation by focusing on a sound that does not stimulate our thoughts.

Once our thoughts are quieted,

We are ready to receive from our intuition.

Walking in nature.

We don't typically carry resistance to nature,

So that quiets our resistant thoughts.

Grounding,

Or earthing,

Is walking barefoot on the ground,

Especially on damp soil or a sandy beach.

This allows the electrical exchange with Mother Earth that calms our bodies.

Sitting quietly,

Staring with a soft gaze at a candle flame,

Can create an almost trance-like stillness.

Forest bathing is walking in the forest,

Soaking up all of the calming chemicals produced by the trees,

The plentiful oxygen and negative ions that our bodies need to rejuvenate.

Hint,

Remember to hug a tree while you're there.

Using the Emotional Freedom Technique,

EFT,

Also known as tapping,

Is a great way to speak quiet affirmations that focus on our inner truth,

Calming and soothing our bodies while tapping on specific meridian points.

Finally,

Let's add a few more benefits of getting quiet that you may not have considered.

Quiet allows our nervous system to calm down and return to balance or homeostasis.

Who doesn't need a calm nervous system in a chaotic world?

Quiet allows our immune system to improve.

We could all use a little boost in our immune systems.

Quiet allows for improved sleep because it lowers our anxiety and stress levels.

We all could use more restorative sleep.

Have you noticed any benefits of being quiet?

Have you felt a power growing inside because you've been practicing quiet stillness?

What improvements have you witnessed in your own life?

What would you add to these lists?

I'd like to invite you to accept a challenge.

Review the list of how to get quiet and choose one practice every day for 7 days.

Write in your journal anything you noticed after doing the practice.

Pay attention to synchronicities that may appear at any time during the day because you may not recognize something right away.

The benefits of your quiet practice may show up in the power of alignment at other times throughout your day.

Reflect on your day and write those in your journal in the evening.

Focus on appreciating yourself for practicing and benefits you received.

Make it a great week and you'll receive magical bonus points if you continue for a lifetime.

Big hugs,

Mary Ann.
