Find refuge and innate joy in the heart.
This meditation will soothe your nerves,
Bring you emotional stability and light you up.
According to the yoga tradition,
The heart is where our individual soul and the divine meet.
In this place,
You can find a light that allows no sorrow to enter.
That light represents freedom from all conditioning.
In it,
We can find innate joy,
Freedom,
Peace,
And contentment.
Settle into your meditation position and start connecting inwards.
Take a moment to relax.
Have the intention to relax and settle into the present moment.
Start connecting with your breath.
Bring your attention to the flow of the breath,
Rising and falling through the nostrils.
As you inhale,
Your breath rises.
As you exhale,
The breath descends in two separate streams through the nostrils.
Simply relax and observe your breath moving from the tip of your nostrils to the bridge of your nose.
Inhale,
The breath rises through the nostril in two separate streams.
As you exhale,
The breath descends through the nostrils.
As you breathe this way,
Begin to notice some unique sensations associated with the breath.
As you focus your breath on the nostrils,
You may notice that the inhalations feel a bit cooler and the exhalation is warm.
Continue to follow the awareness of your breath.
Maybe you will start noticing more subtle sensations like a feeling of tingling.
Gradually allow the mind to become more absorbed in the sensations and bring your body into a rhythm of restful awareness.
Continue to follow the breath and allow the mind to be increasingly absorbed into that rhythm and into the sensations that accompany the breath,
Like a feeling of tingling,
Pulsing,
Maybe a subtle vibration.
It is natural for the mind to wander.
Once you notice that,
Simply bring yourself back to the awareness of your breath.
Perhaps you will notice an increased sensitivity to the subtle sensations that accompany the breath,
A subtle vibration,
A sensation of light or presence.
Perhaps you can sense that the breath moves further along into the midbrain and in that area,
Midbrain and center of your forehead,
You start experiencing more subtle sensations.
As the sensitivity and awareness increase,
Feel heightened perception in the area between the eyebrows and forehead,
Maybe even deeper in the center of your brain.
Continue being aware of your breath as you sense presence and sensations unfolding in the area in and out of your forehead.
In and out,
In and around your forehead.
Stay with your awareness there.
Relax your awareness of the breath and take few moments for contemplation.
Contemplate your own understanding of that which is sacred.
There is no right or wrong.
Simply relax and remember what sacredness or divinity means for you.
Now please begin to relate the sacred to your own essence,
Your own divine link to the infinite.
What is the link between your own essence and divinity?
Please take few more moments to experience that link.
Return to the presence at the forehead and in the center of your brain.
And now please place that presence and awareness in the heart.
Sense it as a flame of light,
The size of an almond in the center of your chest.
Just allow the mind to rest and just become one with this flame of light,
Almond-sized flame of light in the heart center.
Become aware of the flow of the breath as you hold your awareness in the flame in the center of the heart,
The place where our individual soul and the divine meet.
With your inhalation,
Feel this light expanding and filling your whole chest area.
With your exhalation,
Sense this light drawing back into an almond-shaped flame.
Please continue breathing this way for the next moments.
The light expanding on the inhalation and filling the whole chest area,
Expanding and then contracting as you exhale back to the size of a flame.
That light that is the source of our innate wisdom,
Joy,
And contentment,
Free from all conditioning.
As you inhale,
The light expands.
As you exhale,
The light contracts back to a little flame.
Heart is our gateway to the sacred.
Inhale,
The flame expands to fill the chest.
Exhale,
Sense that luminosity contract.
Please remember not to force or try.
Simply experience your breath and awareness as light expanding and contracting.
Gradually,
Your mind will become more quiet,
More still.
Your breath is becoming more quiet too,
More subtle.
Allow this light to expand and contract independent from the breath.
Simply sense the light expanding and contracting.
Draw your awareness to the center of that flame and sense your awareness merging with that light.
Remain effortless and continue to guide the mind to settle into that light in the heart,
The place where no pain,
No sorrow can enter,
Source of our innate joy,
Freedom,
And contentment.
Simply rest in this light.
Your mind and awareness merge with the heart.
Allow your mind to become absorbed in the light that is your own essence.
Begin to bring yourself back as you become aware of your breath and your body again.
Gently deepen your inhale and exhale.
Take a moment to assimilate that experience of the heart.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes.
