Welcome to day three of the gentle pause.
Today is about feeling your feelings and learning to befriend the emotions within you.
Emotions are not here to be pushed away or judged.
I like to think of them as little messengers,
Energy in motion,
Guiding you towards what might need attention,
Care,
Or release.
So take a moment to find a comfortable position,
Sitting upright,
Lying down,
Or wrapping yourself up in a warm blanket,
And we'll begin by taking three grounding breaths together,
Allowing yourself to just land and arrive here,
Taking a moment to just be.
With each exhale,
Allow your body to soften,
Allow your shoulders to drop,
Your jaw to unclench any part of your body that needs releasing.
Allow any tension to just melt away.
Now gently turn your awareness inwards,
Maybe placing a hand on your heart,
Tuning in to what might be present in your emotional body.
Any feelings that might be present today,
Just pause here for a moment.
Take a few slow,
Gentle breaths here,
And just sit with whatever is there.
Can you name the emotion or the feeling?
Can you allow yourself to feel it fully without judgment or trying to change it?
Can you notice any sensations in your body or any thoughts that come up alongside it?
Perhaps it's sadness or grief,
Maybe anger or resentment,
Or perhaps it's joy or a deep sense of gratitude.
And if any of these emotions want to express,
Just allow it.
Perhaps tears want to flow.
Maybe your body's asking for a deep sigh,
A shake,
A hug,
Or even a quiet sound that wants to come out.
This is just your body moving energy through you,
And by honoring your feelings,
It means giving them space to be expressed.
The more we can befriend our emotions,
The more they can move through us rather than linger or build inside.
And feeling your feelings doesn't mean necessarily acting on them or being overwhelmed by them.
It just means we acknowledge,
We honor,
And we try to let them flow through us.
There's no such thing as a bad or negative emotion,
Anger,
Resentment,
Guilt,
Sadness,
Or frustration.
They're just guiding you towards insight or release.
They're messages.
So just sit with your breath for a few more moments,
The deepest breath you have all day,
And an audible exhale on the out-breath.
Feel the relief that comes from just letting go,
And when you're ready,
Let yourself soften and repeat these affirmations to yourself silently.
It's safe to feel my emotions.
My feelings are messengers.
I allow my emotions to move through me.
I honor how I feel without judgment.
I am enough exactly as I am,
And allow yourself to feel the shift that comes from allowing your emotions to be felt and possibly released or expressed.
I hope you will carry this gentle acceptance and emotional clarity with you as you move throughout the rest of your day,
Taking one last centering breath with a hand on your heart,
And when you feel ready,
Softly opening your eyes.
