Welcome to this postpartum meditation.
Take a moment to settle in.
Finding a position that feels supportive for you today.
And if your baby is with you.
If they need you.
If there are sounds around you.
Just know that nothing needs to be different for you to be here.
Begin by bringing your attention to your breath.
Noticing the breath arriving.
Noticing the breath leaving.
And when it feels right,
Take one slow,
Gentle breath in.
And a long,
Soft breath out.
Again,
Breathing in.
And letting go one more time.
Allowing the exhale to be just a little longer.
Now bringing your attention to your body.
Noticing where you might be holding tension.
Perhaps around the jaw.
The shoulders.
Your belly.
Your glutes.
Your hands.
Your feet.
Simply noticing.
Allowing the breath to move to these areas.
Softening.
Easing into this practice.
And now just bringing your awareness inwards.
Noticing what is here for you today.
Perhaps you feel tired.
Tender.
Overwhelmed.
Raw.
Perhaps you're holding it all.
Allow it to be there just as it is.
Allow yourself to feel it.
Without judgment.
But with love and compassion.
These early weeks can ask you to move differently.
More slowly.
Or inward.
More instinctively.
And perhaps for a little while,
Slowness can be something you really receive.
A chance to soften your pace.
To do less.
To rest when you can.
And to know that you're doing enough.
And if your mind is wandering to all things,
Coming after this meditation.
Just bring it back to your breath.
To this present moment.
Allowing yourself just to be with yourself.
And let this be an ode to you.
To your devotion.
To the love you pour into your baby.
Into your family.
Often without even noticing how much you are giving.
To the sleepless nights.
In the long days.
To the tears you have cried.
And the tears you've held back.
To the uncertainty.
Overwhelmed.
The worries you carry quietly.
To the moments you wonder if you're doing enough.
I'm here to remind you that you are.
And beneath all of it.
There is this love So deep.
So real.
So unlike anything else.
A love that can undo you and remake you all at once.
I see you.
I see how much you are carrying.
I see the tenderness,
The strength,
The exhaustion and the courage.
And I want you to remember,
You are not alone.
Many,
Many women and mothers have walked this same path before you.
And collectively,
You are supported.
You don't have to do any of this perfectly.
In fact,
There's no such thing.
You don't have to carry it all by yourself.
So breathe.
Let yourself be cared for.
Let yourself soften.
And remember the woman.
The human being at the heart of all of it.
I invite you now to think of one word.
A word you can return to throughout this season of your life.
Quiet anchor.
Something you can return to in the long nights.
Whenever you need to come back to yourself.
Or in moments of overwhelm or frustration.
A word you can breathe into and embody.
A reminder of how you want to meet yourself in this season.
Take one more slow breath with it.
And letting it go.
Feel your body.
Feel the life around you.
And when you're ready,
Gently return your awareness to the room around you.
Keeping whatever softness you found here today.
And carrying with you this reminder.
You are doing something extraordinary.
Be gentle with yourself.
Wishing you a beautiful day ahead.
