I know the world feels dark,
I know.
So much is unfolding now that is excruciating to witness,
To hold,
And we can so easily be pulled down into fear and hopelessness.
There is darkness in these times,
No doubt,
But that's not all that's here.
Look for the goodness.
In those beautiful and immortal words of Mr.
Rogers,
Look for the helpers.
They exist in the millions.
There are just so many beautiful,
Beating hearts in this world wanting goodness for humanity,
Rooting for fellow humans,
Wishing for an end to our personal and collective suffering.
Please hear me when I say that the good and the beautiful people overwhelmingly outnumber those who are living disconnected from love.
I know it doesn't feel that way,
I know,
But don't let actions of a small portion of our society pull you down into fear and darkness,
Because then they win.
And your life is precious.
Where you focus your energy is precious.
Be so very intentional about the stories you read and the media you expose yourself to and the beliefs that you buy into.
If you feel lost in the chaos and the confusion and the noise of the world,
Come back to your heart again,
Again,
Again.
It will never lead you wrong.
And the beautiful thing about living from heart and not from fear and doom is that you will so much more easily recognize the love and the goodness in others.
To give in to fear only empowers the darkness.
To choose to seek out goodness is an act of resistance and loving power.
Focus on what you do have power over and release the rest,
Release it.
Caring about every conflict,
Every natural disaster,
Every circumstance of human suffering won't help humanity.
It will keep us scared and keep us feeling helpless because it's so much,
It's too much.
Switching off from the constant onslaught of current affairs doesn't mean a lack of empathy.
It means that you recognize that in order to show up meaningfully in your own life and in order to be able to truly help anyone else,
You need to honor your own capacity and your own need for personal care,
For personal minding.
We are no good and of no service to anyone if we are reduced to scared,
Overwhelmed,
Diminished versions of ourselves.
That's not love and it won't help heal the collective.
Make your well-being practices a priority.
Whatever you know helps to soothe and regulate your nervous system in a healthy way and whatever you know helps you to come in contact with your soul,
Your higher self,
Do that as often as you can.
That's the key.
That's the medicine.
That's the way that we stay intact while we navigate these challenging and chaotic times.
Let's take a little moment now to pause and breathe and be together.
Breathing into the goodness of your heart and the goodness of the new life that is pulsing through you with every new breath that you receive and just feeling that now you are in a shared space of love,
Of goodness,
That while we are not together physically,
We are together in this sacred space of connection and love.
I am with you.
You are with me.
You are not alone.
You have never been alone.
Receiving with an open heart the fullness of this breath that arrives and letting it nourish and fill every cell of your being with goodness and if it feels okay for you in this moment,
Let's make the breath a little deeper and slower.
So as you breathe in through the nose,
Really filling chest and belly,
Little pause at the top and then a controlled,
Steady exhale through the mouth.
Making that out-breath longer than the in-breath if that's comfortable for you today.
Breathing in a sense of this connection and love that we're sharing and breathing out any fear,
Hopelessness,
Overwhelm that you may have been holding onto.
Let it go.
To bathe in this space of tenderness and goodness.
This is a moment of goodness and there are so many more of them to notice in your life.
So many moments and pockets of goodness to receive,
To open to,
To celebrate.
There is so much beauty in the world.
So much goodness.
I will begin to bring this to a close now but you are so very welcome to stay on if that feels nourishing for your being.
Remembering that things are tough in the world right now,
No doubt,
But in my heart I believe that they won't always be.
We have hit some turbulence and it feels scary and uncertain but we will come out the other side of this.
We will get through this.
Look after your tender heart.
Stay rooted in love and keep finding all that is good and beautiful in your life because that is as true and as alive as everything else.
