This exercise is designed to help you connect with the Trickster Archetype,
A powerful and mischievous figure in mythology and psychology.
The Trickster represents the part of you that challenges convention,
Questions authority,
And is unafraid to take risks and try new things.
They can also show up as a way to show us our own contradictions that we must resolve.
So first find a comfortable place to sit or lie down where you won't be disturbed.
Take a few deep breaths to allow your mind and body to relax.
Closing your eyes in your own time.
And just notice the sensation of the breath wherever you happen to feel it the most.
Now imagine yourself standing in a forest surrounded by tall trees and dappled sunlight.
And listen to the sounds around you.
As you look around you notice a figure approaching you from the trees.
This is the Trickster in whatever form it takes for you.
It could be a person,
A creature,
Or even a symbol.
They beckon you to follow them deeper into the forest.
The Trickster leads you to a clearing where he proposes to play a game.
Ask the Trickster what the game is and what the rules are.
It could be a riddle,
Puzzle,
Game of skill,
Or a game of chance.
Anything else that comes to mind.
Listen carefully to the Trickster's instructions and the rules.
As you play the game,
Notice how the Trickster behaves.
They might be unpredictable,
Mischievous,
Or even a little bit of everything.
They might be dangerous,
Or even frustrating at times.
Reflect on how these qualities might apply to your own life.
And what lessons you can learn from the Trickster's antics.
When the game is over,
The Trickster reveals a gift or message for you.
It could be a symbol,
A word,
A feeling,
Or a piece of wisdom.
Receive it with gratitude and curiosity,
Knowing that it comes from the deep wisdom of your own psyche.
So take a moment to thank the Trickster for the game and the gift,
And to reflect on what you learned from the experience.
As you walk back through the forest,
Remember to bring the energy of the Trickster and this insight with you into daily life.
And so when you're ready,
Take a deep breath,
And slowly open your eyes again.
