The compass symbolizes the inner guidance and intuition that navigates us through life.

This symbol can steer us towards choices that are aligned with our deepest values and authentic self.

However,

It also warns of potential detours and distractions that may lead us astray.

In this Active Imagination exercise,

We will work with the symbolism of the compass,

Inspiring you to tune into your intuition and discern the path that aligns with your higher self.

So find a quiet and comfortable place to sit or lie down,

Close your eyes,

And take a couple of deep breaths,

Allowing your mind and body to relax naturally.

If at any point your mind wanders,

Simply bring your attention back to the exercise.

Now,

Imagine yourself standing in a vast and open landscape.

Before you,

Multiple paths diverge in different directions.

Each leading towards a different horizon.

Spend a few moments observing these paths.

Notice their characteristics.

Some may be smooth and well-trodden,

Others rocky and challenging.

Some are winding,

Others are straight.

Each path represents different possibilities,

Choices,

And directions your life could take.

Now,

Imagine you're holding an ancient,

Ornate compass in your hand.

This compass represents your intuition,

Your inner guide.

Examine the compass more closely.

What does it look like?

How does it feel in your hand?

What materials is it made of?

Take a moment to appreciate its details.

Now,

Notice the needle spinning before it begins to settle,

Pointing towards one of the paths.

Notice the needle spinning before it begins to settle,

Pointing towards one of the paths.

Spend some time observing the path that your compass has indicated.

What characteristics does this path have?

How do you feel about this path?

Take a few steps along this path.

What changes do you notice in the landscape?

What do you encounter on this path?

Does anything or anyone stand out?

And now,

You're going to ask yourself a series of questions.

And as you do,

Simply state the question in your mind,

And see what arises.

What does this path represent in my life?

What aspects of my life is my intuition guiding me towards?

What challenges might I face on this path?

And how can I navigate them?

With these insights,

Take a moment to feel gratitude for the guidance your intuition,

Symbolized by the compass,

Has provided.

Symbolized by the compass has provided.

As you observe the compass one more time,

Notice if your relationship with it feels different.

Has your understanding of its symbolism changed or deepened?

Express gratitude for the experience and insights gained during this exercise.

And remember to carry these insights with you as you navigate through daily life.

So just bringing your attention back to the room now.

Noticing any sounds,

Or sensations.

Taking a deep breath.

And in your own time,

Opening your eyes again.
