The Eight of Wands represents swift action,

Rapid movement and the quick unfolding of events.

It can suggest a phase of accelerated progress and the powerful momentum of intentions manifesting into reality.

However,

This swift energy can also bring challenges,

Such as a sense of being overwhelmed or losing control.

In this active imagination exercise,

We will explore both the exhilarating and potentially overwhelming aspects of rapid change,

Gaining insights into your readiness for transformation and how to navigate it effectively.

So once you've found a quiet and comfortable place to sit or lie down,

Just close your eyes and take a couple of deep breaths.

I'm just going to start this exercise with some simple meditation just to allow the mind to focus.

Letting go of any unrelated or disparate thoughts.

So just keep your attention on the breath for now.

Whether it's the rise and fall of the chest or abdomen,

Or the sensation of the air moving through the nostrils.

And just focus your attention there.

If at any point the mind wanders,

Just bring the attention back to the exercise.

And now imagine yourself in a natural setting that feels open and boundless.

Allow the details of this place to emerge spontaneously.

And notice how it resonates with you emotionally and physically.

You look up to the sky and you see eight wands moving swiftly.

Observe their appearance and trajectory.

Reach out to them and feel their energy.

Is it intense,

Warm,

Invigorating,

Or something else?

And now you experience yourself moving alongside the wands.

This movement could be in any form that feels natural to you.

Whether running,

Flying,

Or something else.

Feel the pace and energy of this motion.

And now engage in an open dialogue with the wands,

Or whatever form of consciousness presents itself.

Express your thoughts and feelings.

And be receptive to any responses,

Emotions,

Or sensations that arise.

After this free-form interaction,

Reach out and take hold of one of the wands.

And ask the wands,

What do you represent in my life?

In what areas do I feel strong motivation,

Energy,

And vitality?

What is the quality of my focus and intention?

What direction are you guiding me towards?

What does this swift momentum signify?

Where might I be in danger of falling prey to recklessness?

Where might I be in danger of falling prey to recklessness or impulsivity?

And now consider taking an action or making a gesture that signifies your readiness to embrace or moderate the pace of change.

This could be symbolic,

Like planting a flag,

Or practical,

Like adjusting your speed or direction.

Notice how this action is received,

Or any changes that it brings about in the landscape or in the world around you.

Be open to receiving an actionable insight.

So just allowing the scene to fade now,

And just gently bring your attention back to the space around you.

Noticing any sounds or sensations.

Taking a deep breath and opening your eyes again in your own time.
