Hello friends,

This technique is from EMDR therapy called the spiral technique.

Bring to your mind something that bothers you at about a level 3 on a scale of 1 to 10.

Or if there's something currently on that's bothering you right now,

Bring up this image or situation and imagine what it represents for you.

As you think of this image that it represents,

Notice where you feel the disturbance in your body.

Now pretend that the feeling is energy.

Now imagine this spiral energy moving in a direction.

What direction is it moving in?

Is it clockwise or counterclockwise?

Now with your mind gently change the direction of the spiral.

For instance,

If it was originally moving clockwise,

Gently change it to counterclockwise.

And notice what happens to the feelings and sensations in your body.

For many people,

The feelings will begin to disappear as they change the direction of the spiral.

But if the feelings begin to disappear,

Then continue until you feel comfortable.

If one direction doesn't work,

Try the other direction.

And what do you notice?

What comes up in your body as you change the direction of the spiral?

If you would like,

You can continue this visualization and use it anytime an emotional disturbance comes up for you.
