Guided Meditation To Invoke Lucid Dreaming & Dream Recall
This is Carla's personal bedtime ritual for working with their dreams. This is an adaptation of the teachings in Alex Lukeman's Book 'What Your Dreams Can Teach You'. It is recommended that you record your dreams first thing in the morning in combination with this meditation practice in order to encourage good recall and also to create an archive of your dream explorations. This is a powerful way to explore your own psyche, connect with your guiding spirits, do shadow work and so much more.

Hello,
My name is Carla and this is a guided bedtime meditation to help induce lucid dreaming and good dream recall.
And of course because it's a bedtime routine,
This meditation is intended while you are lying flat on your back in your bed,
Ready to dive and delve into dreamland.
And this meditation is intended as a tool that you can come back to.
It is recommended that you use this meditation for at least a week before taking over this ritual and doing it by yourself.
It is recommended that with lucid dreaming and dream recall that commitment is called for.
If you really want to explore in the very exciting dreamlands where the possibilities are endless,
Then you should make this a focus of your practice and your day,
Coming back all the time to that intention and allowing that to soak into your daily life,
Thinking about your dreams during daily life,
Bringing focus to them.
For this is the space where so much information is bridged.
This is the space where we can connect with our ancestors,
With our spirit guides and this is the space where we can find out what is going on within our psyche,
Within our subconscious.
This is the space where we can see our blind spots.
So preparing yourself now,
Making sure that you have your glass of water next to your bed,
That everything is locked up in the house,
That there are no distractions that are going to pull you from your bed in the ready beam to the bathroom.
If you need to pause and make sure that everything is in order before you continue,
I would recommend you do so now.
So lying flat on your back with your spine beautifully straight.
Of course we all sleep in different positions,
So if you are far more comfortable lying on your side,
Then I would recommend that you lie on your side.
Perhaps putting a pillow between your knees to create as much alignment as you can in your body,
Ensuring that your legs and your arms are not crossing over your body.
Just taking a few moments to connect in with your breath,
Bringing yourself into presence,
Right into your body.
Bringing your attention to your feet,
Feeling the energy moving around in your feet and bringing your attention to each of your toes,
One at a time.
Your baby pinky toe,
And the next toe,
Your middle toe,
And the next toe,
And finally your big toe.
Just acknowledging the energy that is within the feet,
Moving that attention up to the ankles,
Feeling this space of intersection.
Noticing if there are any nagging feelings therein.
Moving the attention up towards the calf,
Feeling into the shin bones.
Noticing what is there,
Breathing and feeling the energy moving and flowing.
Moving the attention up towards the knees.
Acknowledging this very important joint,
Feeling into the kneecaps and moving up to the thighs,
Feeling the power that resides here.
Feeling grateful for the strength that exists within these muscles.
Moving up to the hip area,
The hips,
The genitals,
The pelvis,
Feeling into this very sacred container for creative energy,
For grounding,
For survival.
And moving up into the belly,
Feeling into all of the organs.
Acknowledging what is going on here,
Feeling the digestive system.
Where is there ease?
Where is there discomfort?
What parts of the body can you send relaxing signals to through your presence,
Your pure presence and your intention?
Coming back to your breath and moving the energy up to your chest,
To the space where your lungs are expanding,
The container for your heart.
Feeling that connection between the breath and the heart and how the oxygen comes in to your lungs,
Oxygenating your blood,
Being pumped through your entire body by the heart.
That life force beat,
Acknowledging how you can bring that heart rate right down simply by bringing focus to the breath.
And moving that attention up to the shoulders,
This space that so many of us hold tension in.
Just acknowledging what is there,
Gently accepting,
Not judging anything that's coming up.
Just bringing your divine presence to those spaces of tenderness,
Moving the attention down the arms,
Upper arms,
Elbows,
Forearms,
Hands.
Lingering at the hands for a while,
Feeling energy tingling in the fingertips.
Breathing.
And moving the attention into the neck and the base of the skull.
Sending the breath there,
Feeling the potency of this space that connects your head to your body.
This bridge between mind and embodiment.
Bringing your energy up into your skull,
Right into the tips of your hair,
Into your nose,
Feeling the air coming in through your nose.
Following it up towards the top of your nose,
Kissing the forehead and that space between the eyes.
Feeling into the eyeballs,
Releasing tension from the jaw,
Bringing relaxation to the face.
Just inviting in some more deep breathing.
And now bringing the attention to the entire body,
Being present within your entire being.
Feeling the energy emanating around your body.
And just breathing here for a few minutes.
Ah.
Ah.
And now we will set the intention for remembering the dreams.
Repeat the affirmation after me.
And if it feels natural to you,
You can also place your right hand over your heart space as you speak this.
Or you can imagine the hand over the heart.
I will remember my dreams.
I shall remember my dreams.
I do remember my dreams.
I will remember my dreams.
I shall remember my dreams.
I do remember my dreams.
I will remember my dreams.
I shall remember my dreams.
I do remember my dreams.
I will remember my dreams.
I shall remember my dreams.
I do remember my dreams.
I will remember my dreams.
I shall remember my dreams.
I do remember my dreams.
I will remember my dreams.
I shall remember my dreams.
I do remember my dreams.
I will remember my dreams.
I shall remember my dreams.
I do remember my dreams.
And now we shall begin to set the intention to begin to lucid dream.
And this intention is one that I would like you to try and come back to during the day whenever you think about it.
Creating that feeling of excitement,
Of becoming awake within your dreamscape,
Within your psyche,
Your subconscious,
The space where messages and keys come through.
And I would like for you to directly address the dreamer within you in this moment.
And I will give you an example so you have something to go by.
But I think it's important that you speak from your heart and from your own reasoning about why it is that you wish to invoke this magical exploration of self.
And here is the example.
Dear dreamer within me,
I am so excited to create a relationship with you,
A relationship of understanding,
A space of becoming awake.
I set the intention to become lucid,
To become aware within the dream space.
I set the intention.
I invoke you,
Dreamer.
I invoke you,
Dreamer self.
I invoke that aspect of me that interprets the dreams even as I am within that dreaming space.
I set that intention.
And the tool that I shall bring in is that I will constantly in both waking and dreaming life,
I will always look down at my hands.
And I will notice if my hands look normal.
Or if they are warping and they look strange because I know that in the dream lands my hands take different forms and they move in different ways and they hold a different character.
This will be the subtle marker that allows me to become lucid in that dreaming space.
Tonight I would like to dream about and I shall allow you to insert your own intentions here.
Remembering you can ask a question for the answer to be revealed and you can set whatever intention you feel is right for you here in this space.
And I will allow a decent amount of time with the relaxing sounds and gentle music for you to have your own narrative and intention setting here.
And there will be no bells or sounds to indicate the end of this meditation to allow you to slip gently,
Sweetly into dream land with love.
