We will be doing a mindfulness meditation to let go of depression and anxiety and focusing on living in the present moment.
So I hope you enjoy.
Make sure you are comfortable either sitting down or laying down.
Take a moment to notice how you feel emotionally and in your body.
When feeling these emotions,
How would you describe them?
As anxious,
Depressed,
Stressed,
Unhappy.
Name the emotion that describes how you feel.
Mindfulness focuses on acceptance.
When thinking about this emotion,
It's important that you do not judge the way you feel.
Simply know that this is an emotion without attaching a story or a reason for why you feel this way.
If you are feeling anxious or depressed,
Do not judge these feelings.
Just understand that this is how your body feels in this moment.
Notice how your body feels from head to toe.
Regardless of your emotions,
What are you feeling physically?
I'm going to count some breaths for you to take.
And with every inhale,
I want you to feel relaxed.
And every exhale,
I want you to release all of your judgements and let go of any negative thoughts.
So when you are ready,
Breathe in.
And breathe out.
And release that breath and blow away any negativity you are holding onto.
In this moment,
You should feel as though you are living in the present.
Any thoughts of the past should live in the past.
Any thoughts of the future live in the future.
And in this moment,
You are completely present.
You are non-judgmental of how you feel and what you are thinking.
And you accept that your emotions do not attach themselves to the way that your body feels from head to toe.
With every deep breath,
You allow yourself to relax into the present.
You let go of the anxiety that lives in the future and the depression that lives in the past.
As in this moment,
You are in the present with nothing to worry about and nothing to make you sad.
Allow yourself to release all judgements and release any negative emotions.
Breathing again to my count,
When you are ready,
We will be breathing in.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
And breathing out.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six.
And breathing in.
And breathing out all negative emotions and judgement.
Allowing yourself to be relaxed.
Allowing yourself to be mindful of the present moment and letting go of the future and past.
And focusing on the present.
