Hello,
Liz Doyle,
The Positive Change Coach here.
This is a meditation for victims either past or present of domestic violence.
You can also listen to this if you have a loved one who is experiencing domestic violence as a powerful support.
Whilst I do understand that men and non-binary can experience domestic abuse,
This meditation is for women as they remain to be the main victims along with their children,
With sometimes devastating outcomes.
Anne Blythe,
The founder of Betrayal Trauma Recovery,
Said,
Many women who experience the trauma of abuse find themselves having difficulty processing that trauma and pain.
Meditation can help provide clarity and offer space for that processing to happen safely.
So sitting back or lying down,
Give yourself permission to relax.
Closing your eyes,
Take a few deep breaths,
Just let go.
Imagine the bottom of your feet being connected into the centre of Mother Earth.
Allow yourself to become grounded.
Imagine that you are standing in a very safe space.
This is your own safe space.
Release your burdens.
Release your pain.
Release your fears.
Let go of old negative patterns.
Feel them falling away from you.
Victims of abuse can suffer terrible trauma from physical symptoms like insomnia and chronic pain to emotional symptoms like mood swings,
Depression and even suicidal thoughts.
Abuse leaves painful scars.
Now imagine yourself and all victims of domestic abuse standing in the very safe space you have created.
There is room for all of you.
As victims learn to practice meditation,
They may find that they are able to process traumatic memories more clearly and easily.
And then to let them go.
See yourself and all of these women whole and healthy,
At peace.
See them and yourself filled with love.
Victims of domestic violence feel trapped in trauma.
They struggle to believe that there will ever be a time when they will feel peace,
Self-worth and safety again.
Meditation is a powerful tool for a victim of abuse.
It can help enable victims to set and maintain effective boundaries to protect themselves from further abuse.
Victims may experience significant triggers even years after the abusive relationship has ended.
Wherever you are or they are on the healing journey,
Meditation can help.
When you or they feel triggered,
Breathe in and breathe out.
Now focus on your heart centre.
Imagine the energy of unconditional love expanding from your heart centre to connect with the heart energy of all that listen to this recording.
We understand the devastation and agony of domestic abuse.
Victims deserve a safe place to process their feelings and work through their trauma.
Know that you are supported and loved as you move forward with your life.
You are seen.
You are heard.
You matter.
You are safe.
You are enough just the way you are.
You are loved and you are lovable.
Breathe that in and breathe out.
On this planet,
We can be in a circle of hate or we can be in a circle of love and healing.
Surround every person involved in domestic abuse in white light.
Send love and healing energy to everyone connected with it,
Including the abusers.
Rage and fear won't heal anything.
Hatred begets hatred.
Be willing to forgive and let go.
We do not condone their actions,
But by forgiving this person,
We are set free.
If we are willing to forgive,
We can be released from the prison of the past.
We are all victims of victims.
Breathe that in and breathe out.
Repeat these words silently to yourself or allow them to wash all over you.
I choose to be in a circle of love.
I realize that everyone wants the same things I want.
We all want to feel safe and have peace in our lives.
And in this space,
Feel your connection with all the victims that need your love.
Let the love in you go from heart to heart.
And as your love goes out,
Know that it comes back to you multiplied.
Breathe that in and breathe out.
Imagine that people everywhere have truly learned to love and respect each other,
Even when they disagree.
Imagine that there are peaceful solutions to differences and that our world is at peace.
Love starts in our homes.
See all homes on this planet as loving spaces for everyone in those homes.
Imagine all of these people feeling safe,
Feeling protected,
Feeling loved.
Imagine that there are creative solutions to all the challenges on our planet.
Breathe that in and breathe out.
Allow these words to be absorbed by your emotional body.
I send loving and comforting thoughts to everyone.
And I know that these thoughts are returning to me.
Now see every home becoming a healing circle of peace and love.
A circle of peace and love.
The world is being made a safe place for me and I am contributing to that safety.
All is well in my world.
All is well in my world.
And so it is.
When you're ready,
Very slowly,
Take your time.
Start to become aware of the room you're in.
Take some cleansing breaths and then gently open your eyes.
Thank you for joining me.
Much love to you.
