Welcome to this sleep meditation to help you drift off into a restful sleep.
Begin by finding a comfortable position in your bed and allowing your body to sink into the mattress,
Feeling supported and safe.
Arranging your pillows,
Your blankets so that you are just that little bit more comfortable and take a deep breath in,
Filling your lungs with fresh soothing breath and then slowly exhale,
Letting go of any tension that you're holding on to.
With each breath find yourself becoming more and more at ease as you let go of the day and surrender into rest and sleep,
Allowing your eyes to gently close.
Bring your attention to the top of your head and imagine a warm soothing light beginning to spread from the top of the scalp,
Moving slowly down your body.
This warm soothing light bringing peace and melting away any tension as it moves down the body.
As this warm light moves down your forehead you feel the muscles soften and you let this sensation spread into the muscles surrounding your eyes.
Now noticing that light flowing into your cheeks,
Your jaw,
Down the neck Finding a sense of release and a dissolving of tensions as this warm soothing light spreads down into your shoulders.
Taking another deep breath in and as you exhale imagining any remaining tension flowing out with your breath.
This soothing warm light continues to journey down your body flowing down the arms and into your hands.
Feeling each part of your body release and feeling comfortable and soothed by its warmth.
Bringing your awareness now to your chest and feeling each breath gently slowing down your heart rate as you become as you become warm soothing light travels down down your spine releasing and relaxing every muscle as it flows through your stomach down to your hips.
You feel yourself sinking deeper into the support and safety of your bed.
As this light moves through your thighs down to your knees all the way down into your feet and to the tips of your toes.
Every muscle,
Every fiber releasing,
Softening,
Sinking into rest and the whole of your body is now enveloped in this blanket of warm soothing light.
Feeling heavy,
Feeling calm for sleep and in this sweet space between sleep and awake you imagine a place where you feel completely at peace.
Where you are surrounded by calm and tranquility.
Your safe place where all of your worries seem to dissolve.
In this safe place,
This calm,
Tranquil,
Serene space of yours you can let go and dream to sleep trusting that you will wake up feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
As the very gentle rhythm of your breath guides you deeper and deeper guiding you into sleep with each breath moving closer to sleep a gentle and restful sleep.
