So,

Just letting yourself get comfortable if you haven't found that comfort spot yet,

Letting your back adjust,

Your head adjust,

Your legs,

Your arms.

Yeah.

And I'm just going to read that little excerpt from David White's poem,

What to Remember When Waking.

What shape waits in the seed of you to grow and spread its branches against a future sky?

Just letting those words gestate for a moment as your body continues to settle.

Just noticing the images that you have in your mind's eye right now,

The thoughts that you might have,

Any kind of analyzing or figuring out that's happening,

Just noticing that,

Not trying to stop it,

Just noticing that.

As well as any emotional response or sensation that has been evoked,

Feeling that in your bodies.

And letting yourself kind of dream into these responses as they call to you.

If it calls to dream into imagery or words or sensations or emotions,

Let yourself do that.

Feeling the breath while that's happening.

Feeling the sitting breathing body while that's happening.

What shape waits in the seed of you to grow and spread its branches against a future sky?

Just noticing what words,

Images,

Sensations are strongest right now and letting them be here if that is okay and safe in this moment.

Letting yourself be carried by the questions that maybe this has arisen for you or the images that have come or the sensations that have surfaced,

Breathing with what has arisen.

Letting yourself be in the mystery of what has arisen without needing to land in certainty with a right or a wrong or a fixed knowing.

Feeling the mystery of whatever has come to be dreamed into or danced with.

What shape waits in the seed of you to grow and spread its branches against a future sky?

Letting your breath take whatever has arisen,

Letting your breath take that in,

Receive that into your being.

Breathing that out and breathing back in.

Feeling your sitting breathing body,

Your legs positioned just as they are,

Your knees straight or bent,

Your feet solidly placed on something or maybe propped up.

Your arms laying where they are and the rest of the positioning of your body,

Whether it's lying down or leaning back or completely upright,

Just noticing the rest of you here in this very moment amidst any dreaming,

Any imaging,

Any story that is dancing with you in this moment.

What shape waits in the seed of you to grow and spread its branches against a future sky?

Lying in whatever has arisen,

Sitting and lying with whatever has arisen.

Whatever words or images or sensations,

Let them curiously be here.

Let them have space to be born and see what is born from them in the next moment without trying to control or change or manufacture.

Notice what spontaneously arises with these words.

What shape waits in the seed of you to grow and spread its branches against a future sky?

Dancing with the mystery of whatever visits.

Opening the door to whatever visits.

What does your being need in this moment to be open to receiving mystery?

Do you need to move your body a little bit or readjust?

Do you need to bring your attention to something very simple and easy,

Like the air moving in and out of the nostrils or the experience of gravity in your context of experience,

How that's here,

Or perhaps the vast array of temperatures that are coexisting allows some simple ease.

At the same time,

You might notice what keeps you from being in the mystery,

Other ideas you don't like that are here,

Other concepts that you struggle with that seem to bring about a tightening.

Or is there something,

A discomfort maybe in your body right now that is hard or challenging for you to be with?

And to notice that whatever just arose for you is coexisting with what had just arisen before with simple ease.

And so there may be difficulty and discomfort in this moment.

And in the very same moment,

Somewhere nearby in your experience,

There is also simple ease in some way.

And they do always coexist.

When we can connect to attention curiously,

We can notice the ands of our experience,

The this and that,

Maybe the mystery and the lack of mystery or certainty.

And we can give permission to both to be here because they often are both here.

So why not give them permission to both be here?

That part of us that wants to have certainty and control is welcome here,

Just as much as that part of us that is quite fine in mystery or is here in some kind of simple expression.

What shape waits in the seed of you to grow and spread its branches against a future sky?

What shapes are here now?

What seeds are here now?

What is growing now in this moment?

Our images growing and spreading.

Our thoughts growing.

Our sensations growing.

Our different experiences spreading our branches against this sky in this moment,

Which was once a future but is here now.

Discovering this moment,

Whatever is arisen in this moment,

As the breath comes in and out of the sitting or laying breathing body.

What shape waits in the seed?

What shape waits in the seed of you to grow and spread its branches against a future sky?

If it feels right to give thanks to whatever has revealed itself to you during this time,

Maybe making note of what you would like to continue to contemplate or sit with or dream into and slowly letting your body move a little bit,

Coming back more into form,

Letting your arms and your legs move a little bit,

Your hands and your feet move a little bit,

Staying with the breathing,

Sitting or laying body,

All that moving is happening,

All that coming more back into this physical plane is happening.

And when it feels right for you as you stay with the breath moving through,

The breath being born,

The breath that is growing,

The breath that is spreading,

And each moment the eyes open and staying with this creation of breath while the eyes are taking in a space around you.

And when it feels right for you to come back to the screen.
