Hello there and welcome to The Daily Insight.

This is Lisa Abramson and I'm so glad you've joined me today.

So just take a moment and find a comfortable seat and gently close your eyes.

And then just take a big inhale through your nose.

And then exhale through your mouth.

And just appreciate yourself for showing up here today,

For taking some time for yourself.

In today's practice,

We're going to elevate your mood with a little pick-me-up technique.

So this is great if you just feel like maybe that pep in your step is missing this morning or in this moment and you're looking to shift your energy.

So place your hand on your heart or both hands,

Whatever feels comfortable.

And just really,

Again,

Acknowledge yourself for being here.

And just let go of what was ever going on before this moment and let go of everything that you need to do after this moment.

And just begin to feel the rhythm of your breath beneath your hands.

Feeling your chest rise and fall.

And just acknowledging that it's tough when you're feeling off,

Maybe when you're feeling bad or something doesn't feel right,

But it's hard.

And acknowledge that that's where you are or that's where you've been.

And other people have been in the same spot that you've been in.

And just recognize this as a part of our shared human experience.

Sometimes we feel okay and sometimes we don't.

And see if you can bring some gentleness to this moment.

Acknowledge it.

Maybe you've been having a hard time maybe you've been having a tough time,

But it's okay.

And see if you can think of one thing that's going well or one thing about yourself that you appreciate.

Just bring that to mind.

One thing you appreciate about yourself.

And if you're having a hard time coming up with something,

Maybe just appreciate yourself for showing up here and for feeling some of those difficult emotions,

But deciding to take some time for yourself.

Deciding to give yourself what you need.

Appreciate what a brave and courageous act that can be.

Avoidance and distraction and staying busy.

Sometimes that's so much easier than going into the stillness and noticing what's there.

And now I want you to bring a smile to your face.

Even if it feels forced or unnatural,

Bring a smile to your face.

And now imagine bringing a smile to your mind.

Imagine drawing a smile right across your mind.

Keep that smile in your face.

Again,

Even if it feels a little unnatural right now,

Hold that smile.

As you bring two smiles to your eyes,

Maybe see in your mind's eye,

A smiling face looking back at you.

It could be a smile from that loved one or just a generic smiley face.

Whatever comes to mind is perfectly fine.

And then bringing a smile to your cheeks.

What does it feel like to bring a smile to your cheeks?

And bringing a smile to your neck and your throat.

How does it feel to warm your whole head and face with a smile?

And then bringing a smile to each arm.

Imagine painting your body in smiles as you hold that smile on your face.

And bringing a smile to your chest.

And relaxing your belly with a smile.

Bringing a smile to your legs.

Drawing smiles all over your body.

Opening up,

Feeling a little more space.

Maybe even you feel a little warmth in your body or a pulsing in your hands or a soothing feeling.

Just notice how you feel as you bring that smile to your whole body.

And you can let that smile on your face be a little more natural now and comfortable.

And with that good feeling flowing in your body,

Taking another moment to appreciate yourself.

For showing up here,

For taking the first step.

The first step is always the hardest.

So much easier to keep going quickly,

To stay busy,

To stay moving.

But stillness,

It is brave and it is wise.

And feel how that happiness,

That loving,

Peaceful feeling was created within your body,

Generated from you,

Within your control.

Knowing that just by being here and breathing and taking up space here on this planet Earth,

You are worthy of love and belonging.

And you deserve to be happy.

You deserve to feel good.

It's okay to feel good.

Appreciating yourself for showing up here.

Appreciating yourself for trusting yourself.

You knew what you needed today and you connected with that.

You gave yourself that beautiful pause,

That moment to reset.

And now you can take this positive energy into your day and know this is really an offering to yourself,

But also an offering to others.

Because your positivity,

You're shining brightly,

It'll have a ripple effect and help all those you encounter today.

Now you can gently wiggle your fingers and your toes and have a beautiful day.

Thank you again for practicing with me.

And tell me what's one thing you're gonna do with this new positive feeling.

Thank you.

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for this session, Lisa. You uploaded this session at the end of an emotionally difficult day, and your soothing words proved to be just what I need. I feel much calmer, more relaxed, and less tense. I would greatly recommend this meditation to anyone else who needs a pick-me-up and some support. Thank you 🥲🤗
