From one lover of trees to another,

This meditation is for you.

Close down your eyes,

Find a comfortable gaze where your eyes can be at ease,

Locating your breath,

Whatever it is,

Is perfectly okay.

As you breathe,

Inhaling through your nose,

Exhaling through your mouth,

And below whatever holds you,

Below the floor,

Below the foundation of the building,

Below the top of the earth,

Down and down,

Drop until you find roots,

Roots belonging to beings that we humans call trees,

Finding those roots,

And maybe they're even illuminated from within,

Noticing and seeing this vast web of light,

Life that supports these beautiful beings from below,

Just taking a moment to see,

Really see how vast is this web,

How strong,

How vibrant,

Busy in communication,

Sharing of nutrients and sugars,

Telling other tree beings what's coming,

What to watch for,

Just seeing this vast network,

See if there's any sounds or colors or sensations as you dwell in this secret place below the earth where the trees are supported from.

Now king one root,

One lit up stream of mycelial wonder,

And traveling through that root to find the tree it belongs to,

Letting it carry you gently through its network,

Its interbeing,

Interwoven,

Interconnected root system,

Up to the base of the tree.

Now traveling up through the center of the tree in its densest part of its being,

Cambium at the center of this tree,

And traveling up this tree until you get all the way to the top,

And allowing a branch to now invite you to travel down its length,

All the way extending like the horizon into its beautiful tender leaves.

Now as you're on the leaf,

Drinking in the light of the sun,

Photosynthesizing it,

Transforming it and alchemizing it into energy,

What form of life are you as this tree?

Are you a eucalyptus,

Redwood,

Oak,

Sequoia,

Cherry tree,

Any kind at all?

Or maybe all of them in one.

A drop of water comes and gently touches the leaf that you're on and brings you lovingly and gently down to the ground in front of the tree.

Now you're there,

Standing or maybe sitting in front of this beautiful tree being,

And in full presence with one another,

Able to give and receive,

See and be seen.

And I invite you to express whatever might need to be expressed to that tree.

Now listening for what that tree might have to share or express to you.

Allowing all the beauty and the goodness from this tree and all trees to travel now to you,

And as they bow in honor of you,

In love of you.

Thanking you for how you love them and their delight in your reciprocity.

They send you ease.

They send you gentleness.

They send you grace.

They send you strength.

These beings,

These roots,

These tree leaves,

This magic of the sun,

This wind through their leaves,

This gentle rain on their branches.

It's all for you.

I'm going to offer some final words to the tree.

And then we travel back through the soil,

Back into the root system,

Back down the root that you came,

All the way up through the system of roots and then to the surface of the earth,

And up through the ground,

Up through the foundation of the building you're in.

All the way up to where you are,

To wherever your body is being held by,

And up into your body again.

This tree,

Love,

Endless life cycle tree beings,

Offering their support,

Their companionship,

Their friendship to you.

When you're ready,

You can open your eyes.

And here you are.

May you be happy.

May you be at ease.

May you be at peace.

May it be so.
