So we're talking today about the rules that we forgot we were following.
And how old we'll shape our now.
And how to decide which ones still belong.
I'm here to help you to discover the hidden beliefs that are shaping your now.
And to reclaim your freedom.
To choose.
Personally,
I was raised around so many rules and disciplines.
And when I began this particular awareness journey,
I sort of needed to find a place to put some of them.
You know.
The governance rules that sometimes can just be annoying.
So I do describe some of the rules for myself.
As governance,
Road rules,
The living where I do rules,
The ones that I can't change and Yeah,
We'll waste energy trying to beat them.
And the rest of the rules I systematically began to change.
Reassess,
To recalibrate,
To shift vibrationally using systems that I use and share.
I've often shared this freeing concept about rules,
And it's these conversations that led me to here,
To this talk.
And the meditation that'll come.
As a separate recording of a brain file clearing style meditation,
Which is there to create new vibrations around rules.
Yeah,
Those rules.
But a little warning before we begin.
If you absolutely love your world exactly as it is,
You might not want to listen to the talks.
Or do the meditation.
Because once you start,
Once you start the vibration of questioning the rules.
Rules that have shaped your world,
You might find it difficult to see things quite the same ever again.
Now,
You don't have to do anything.
With the questions that I pose here.
Or the subjects that I cover.
I suggest you just let them land and vibrate.
Outcomes will happen.
As listening,
With awareness.
Is similar to dropping a pebble in a pond.
The ripples will happen.
So I am going to pose some questions here and some descriptions but mostly questions for you to see,
To absorb,
And then just to let go.
I'm going to begin gently.
But I truly want you just to relax.
And let what surface awarenesses come.
You can park them in your brain area.
Or a new journal.
And you can clear them through the meditation that I'm recording to go alongside this.
Sorry.
Here you go.
What if some of the things you believe about yourself aren't actually your beliefs?
And what if.
.
.
Some of your limitations.
Began as somebody else's rules.
And what if you're still following instructions that were useful once?
But no longer fit who you are today.
And what if the world that you know could change simply because you question something you've never questioned before.
See what I mean about it being deep?
That's why it's best to let them just land,
Otherwise you can go down huge rabbit holes of air uncovering.
And we can do this very gently inside the meditation.
But I want to talk about where our rules come from.
And this is going to lend some more thoughts for you too.
So many rules.
Are absorbed before we're even old enough to decide whether they make sense.
And these statements are just for awareness.
If I'm commenting on something that's not you,
Allow it to flow.
But also allow what I'm saying.
To awaken awareness of something else.
So it may not be specific but if you listen with an open heart it will definitely awaken thoughts and awarenesses.
So,
Family rules.
What was acceptable in your family?
What wasn't?
What were you praised for?
And what were you discouraged from doing?
Now let's look at cultural and societal roles.
What makes a good person?
What makes a respectable life a successful career?
What are you expected to achieve or not?
Or what is an acceptable way to behave?
Now we'll look at school and authority places.
And usually those rules are.
.
.
Follow instructions.
Get the right answer.
Don't question the teacher.
And fit in.
Now what about relationship rules?
And I find these usually land by examples.
Not necessarily family,
But definitely around you.
Keep the pace.
Don't disappoint people.
And doesn't that relate to their rules?
Be the strong one.
Put everyone else first.
And then some survival rules.
Don't stand out.
Don't trust too easily.
Don't make mistakes.
Don't show vulnerability.
And spiritual rules.
Oh my goodness,
Spiritual rules.
What you should believe,
How you should behave,
What spirituality does look like,
What you should feel,
Or what a spiritual person is supposed to look like.
That one's quite a big one for me.
I've been judged many times on that.
And rules that we create for ourselves.
How about that one?
Decisions made after disappointments.
Think about that.
What decisions have you made after a disappointment?
Or an embarrassment or an experience you don't want to repeat.
So you've got to consider the distinctions that some rules protect us.
Some help us live together.
Some were useful at a particular stage of life.
Some were just never ours,
They just came in and lived with us,
Loudly.
Some rules have just outlived their usefulness.
I don't think a rule has to be bad to be ready for a review.
And I do consider.
The old rules.
Good or bad,
Continue to define.
Our present time.
We might not hear the original voice that gave us the rule.
We probably don't even remember where it came from.
But this rule can still influence our choices.
I'm going to speak into some rules here.
Just another few things to go into your awareness.
Allow yourself to ponder again,
Don't think.
Feel them specifically.
Some of these might be valid for you.
Some of them not.
Let them slide past.
And the ones meant for you will shine out.
So here you go.
I must work hard to deserve rest.
I shouldn't make a fuss.
I need to be liked.
It's too late for me to change.
I must have all the answers before I begin.
I shouldn't trust my own judgement.
I need permission before I do something differently.
If I change,
I might disappoint somebody.
I have to do things the way they've always been done.
Being responsible means putting myself last.
So with your awareness,
Aim to notice how a rule can become an automatic response.
Rather than a conscious decision.
Saying yes when you mean to say no.
So have a look at it.
Acknowledge it.
And begin the journey of saying that NO,
Gently and with love.
And you know you sometimes silence an idea in your heart before even giving it a chance.
We stay in familiar situations because unfamiliar ones feel weird,
Maybe unsafe.
We dismiss our own needs because somebody else's needs seem more important.
And we call something,
Just the way I am,
When it may be a pattern that we've learnt,
Which needs recalibrating.
And so as I said.
.
.
It's not where the rules are wrong.
It's whether they're still right for the person following them.
Now you know this talk could go on forever about how to unwrap the rules.
And how to neutralize them and how to let go.
But I'm going to stop here because my main goal was to create more awareness inside you about this kind of rule structure.
My best outcome for you.
Is that you're more aware.
And that you do see where the subtle rules help or hinder.
And as I said at the beginning.
I'm going to record a separate meditation.
Using my own process,
The brain file clearing process.
To create new vibrations around rules.
So have a fun day.
Thanks for trusting me with your time.
And I will see you in the next meditation or talk.
Bye for now.
