Welcome to this guided sleep meditation called the long painted river.

Let's begin.

Ready for bedtime and wonderful dreams.

Let's make it special so please remember to give your pillow a good squeeze to make a fantastic,

Ever soft pillow.

Let all of you be in bed now.

Closing the right eye with tensing tightly also the right side of all the body for a few seconds now.

Thank you.

Right connects to all the male energies.

Closing the left eye with tensing now the left side of all the body for a few seconds.

Thank you.

Left connects to all the female energies.

Dropping and dropping all tension now instantly.

Entering balance and great support.

Sinking that beautiful mind into the pillow.

Let's hold that breath for seven seconds now.

Feel that breath long and smooth like a long painted river.

Let me take you,

Yes take you to the long painted river.

It's really quite easy for I've in a way covered your eyes with my gentle hands to make it a surprise and at the count of seven we'll let you see what I'm talking about.

So,

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Six,

Seven.

So now,

Do you like this river?

Have half a minute seeing in your own way what this place is like.

I'm giving you an art white canvas and bit by bit will paint this lovely long lovely river that wants you to sleep fantastic.

Let's begin and start you painting the canvas all of it in light blue paint.

So a soft large brush covers it in light blue paint.

Breathe into blueness.

Watch your art canvas become the stillness of light blue.

A little colour therapy at your service.

Dipping now into a shade of watery green paint and draw a strong long painted green watery line that fills all the way across the art canvas.

See how the green line is thinner at one end.

For the river is so long it simply fades into the distance naturally.

A dip of rich deep green paint now and thin strokes of long super lush green grass adds now a frilly edge to the long river.

Grass is playful and soothing to the eyes.

Even plants pop their heads out on the river.

So a little more of another shade of green paint put some life in this river.

The setting of the sun reflects on its surface.

So a creamy paint patterns in luxurious river strokes,

Endless circles and watery dots.

A lot of white paint and quick to catch two large swans silently yet peacefully cruising by.

Almost motionless as if the river was a gentle ride.

A touch of orange paint and pink and flowery lily pads can be seen in a hazy distance.

An adventurous free flowing sprinkle of white paint on all the canvas follows.

For this sprinkle of white paint is the air itself.

I love the harmony and scent of summer air.

The air becomes alive an ocean of activity.

Vibrating moths,

Friendly lady birds,

Tiniest of flies and big fat teddy bear bumble bees.

Dragonflies hover over this long painted river and all this comes with a smile from your curious inner child.

Now has a butterfly ever landed on your skin?

That seems magical butterfly seconds.

Hundreds of miles daily is the big traveller the butterfly.

Even flower petals wave in a warm wind and some are just sheer accurate heart shape.

So a little pink paint must definitely paint some pink petal hearts in the air above the long river.

Why do I love frogs?

Maybe due to fairy tales and to kiss a frog that turns into a prince.

But really just another wonderful creation is the frog.

Sounds the lovely sounds of frogs and everything else that belongs at the riverside.

Let's paint with green the hopping springboard frog with wonderful mussel legs.

Just enough time to paint a few birds in the sky.

Just a couple flying over.

A touch of grey paint like two little bees in the sky.

And yes how light birds are.

Breathing in and in a sense blending in with the sleepy long river.

A part of it all as you paint yourself in this picture before you go to sleep.

And don't forget to put a hat on your head.

Then lean over and wash your hands now if you please in the beautiful soothing long river.

Feel the water softness and a gentle river current through the fingers and palms of your hands.

And tilt that hat on your head over your face.

Ready for that holiday feel sleep.

Time to sit back,

Take the weight off your feet and adjust your fishing chair for it's almost touched being so green too.

A perfect foot rest and sturdy back support.

Time to cast a lazy line of tiny bait and wait and wait but not really catch any fish.

To sit here and meditate to the long painted river.

And what's it like inside the river?

What's it like to be a free flowing fish?

The sea bed is constant upon this river and above the river letting sun filters through.

Such big eyes fishes do have swimming through it all.

For one could easily drift off to sleep due to the stillness the soft buzz.

The holiday feel of all the love a long sleepy river does.

Did you used to do what I did and drop a little feather with one hand and catch it with the other hand on a slow motion fall.

Feather light.

I like that the pillow has feathers inside.

So I think I will sink now deeply into my feather pillow and stay here next to the long comforting painted river and breathe the beautiful scented air.

River air is rich from naturally being close to soft water.

I think I can sleep so perfectly here.

Blending in,

In a meditated way and simply sleep next to this painted long river.

Sleep fantastic which means perfectly.

Sleep,

Sleep.
